Praia da Fonte da Telha — Attraction in Almada

This place is truly amazing. It is a bit windy in general (but it is the atlantic ocean so that is to be expected) but it is quite in the morning if you want to take a walk along the beach or in the evening. The beach is quite populated from around 8-18. It is an amazing place to sit and enjoy a beer late at night as it is vacant of people and the night lights from Lissabon can be seen in the diatance. Be aware that A LOT of schools take trips to this beach so there will be a large number of kids during the day, and most of them are rather young so there is a fair share of screaming kids. But it is a beach so that is also to be expect. The restourants in this area are good, but be aware of unexpected rises in price with the food they place on the table right after ordering. And also the young waiting staff. We have had less then pleasent experiences with young waiters and waitresses whose service seemed forced, unenthusiastic and in some places downright rude! Ich habe mehrere Tage dort an Verschiedenen Strandabschnitten verbracht. Der Strand selbst ist wunderschön, mit feinem Sand und Muschel Stückchen. Es gibt an manchen Strandabschnitten Annehmlichkeiten wie Liegestühle und Sonnenschirme. Kleine Cafés und Restaurants entlang der Promenade laden zum verweilen ein.

Das Wasser: Ein wichtiger Punkt, den man beachten sollte, ist die Wassertemperatur. Das Atlantikwasser ist sehr kalt ( ca. 15°), selbst an heißen Sommertagen (max 20°). Es kann eine erfrischende Abkühlung sein, aber für diejenigen, die wärmeres Wasser bevorzugen, kann es etwas unangenehm sein. Ich empfehle, sich langsam an die Temperatur zu gewöhnen oder einen Neoprenoberteil zu tragen, wenn man länger schwimmen möchte.

Bitte nur bei grüner Flagge schwimmen gehen. Die Flagge wird von den Rettungsschwimmer stündlich aktualisiert. Der Atlantische Ozean ist an der Küste für seine kräftigen Strömungen bekannt. Trotz der kalten Wassertemperatur ist der Strand einen Besuch wert. Die Umgebung ist meistens sauber und gut gepflegt, und es gibt viele Aktivitäten, die man genießen kann. Auch mit Kindern kann man hier einen wunderbaren Tag verbringen, wenn am Vormittag durch die Ebbe etliche größere Pfützen bleiben um mit den kleinen, in dem vom Sonnenschein vorgewärmten...

A praia é extraordinária: mar relativamente calmo, sem rochas e a água tem uma temperatura aceitável (fria, mas não gelada); extenso areal onde se podem fazer longas caminhadas ou fugir das multidões de banhistas para usufruir de mais privacidade ou de um descanso recatado. Esta longa praia está dividida por diversas concessões de bares ou restaurantes, estando também garantida a vigilância por Nadadores Salvadores. Grande aspecto negativo é o acesso aos veículos que se processa num único ponto das arribas, o que causa engarrafamentos que chegam a durar 3h ao final da tarde para sair, e 1 a 2h para entrar entre as 10h e as 14h, quando em época alta. O estacionamento também é pouco para a quantidade enorme de veraneantes que escolhem esta praia, pelo que por vezes é necessário aguardar a saída de alguns veículos para se conseguir estacionar. A vista da praia para as arribas está longe de ser agradável, com imensas construções ilegais de casas, garagens, barracões, entre outros, utilizados como habitação, sem qualquer ordenamento ou estética que se enquadre no local, algumas delas em avançado estado de degradação ou apenas em tijolo.
