Kailua Fonte da Telha — Restaurant in Almada

I never write reviews—good or bad—but this experience stood out so much that I felt the need to. We purchased a beach bed for three with full-day usage, including food and drink service.

The beach itself was beautiful, and the beach bed setup was comfortable and well-arranged. The food was just okay—nothing special—and the drinks were mostly sugary tropical mixes where you could barely taste the alcohol.

Unfortunately, the service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Everything—servers, bar, kitchen—was extremely slow. Orders were messed up multiple times, and when I sent back a drink because I couldn’t taste the vodka, the kitchen refused to replace it with something else, insisting it was fine.

Several times we had to leave our beach bed and go find a server just to check on our food (which was wrong 2–3 times). In nearly 5 hours, we were only able to get 4 drinks because of how slow service was. Even getting water was a challenge. At one point, I asked for a simple tequila pineapple and the server wasn’t sure if they could make it because it wasn’t on the menu—so I just walked to the bar myself. Out of my 4 drinks, I had to personally go to the bar to get 3 of them.

The service was piss poor. They rarely checked on us, and we had to keep flagging people down just to wait another 30 minutes for simple things. The only time they proactively came to us was to give us the check—which was over the €150 limit we had prepaid, something that we would’ve LOVED to be communicated beforehand.

Simply one of, if not the worst, service experiences I have ever received. Beautiful location, terrible execution. I would not recommend it unless you plan to serve...

This place looks really nice, but the service is a total mess. There are almost no tables available, even though there are a lot of empty ones, they are all reserved. 80% of the tables require 20 or 30€ minimum consumption. The once that aren't are either occupied or closed for some reason. If you manage a seat in the outside area, the usual wait time till someone shows up and serves you is 20-30min. On my first time there I got lucky and a waiter showed up really fast, but I waited 40min to get my order of a cocktail and a sandwich. After 40 min another waitress showed up and asked if I already ordered anything, after some back and forth we figured out that the other waiter messed up and didn't pass my request to the second waiter that was working at my table area. I decided to give another chance a week later. It took them 20 min to get my order of just one drink and another 20 to get it to me. Also they messed it up and it wants the one I asked for. Instead of waiting for a replacement that would probably take another 20 min I just drank what I was given. Third time I waited 40 min to order a cocktail, at least they didn't messed it up. It's a shame that such a nice looking place is such a huge mess and a letdown. As we celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we've shared. Six years ago, we embarked on this beautiful adventure together, and with each passing year, our bond has grown stronger and more profound. Be in this place in the beach that I learned how to Surf was so good.
