Porto de Recreio de Oeiras (Marina de Oeiras) — Attraction in Oeiras

I always try to write positive reviews and focus on the good in every person or place. Unfortunately this time the experience was very difficult and it is important for me to warn others. The dry facts are these: *The marina is under renovation and every day from 6 in the morning until 6 in the evening there is a terrible noise of construction. *There is a very noisy club every night until 2am with the same awful music every night! It sounds like the speakers inside the boat. *The pool is for the use of customers who pay a daily rate only. *The washing machines are bad and very far from the boats. *There is no WiFi. *The price is very excessive compared to all the other marinas where we docked. The manager walks around with his nose up and the whole feeling is very disrespectful. We paid almost 1000 euros a month and when we left the marina on the morning of the first day of the month we were asked to pay for another day claiming that the monthly payment does not include the last night of the month. We had to pay another 44 euros. And the most serious thing is that other customers who have been all winter said that they were promised a free month (May) and in the moment of truth they were told that the rules had changed and the benefit could not be accepted. We arrived at 7 in the morning and called then on VHF 09, but no reply. Our intention was just to bunker diesel, so we entered the marina and moored at the tank pier. A guy waved at us and as we where in the middle of mooring, we expected he was asking if we needed help and we signaled everything ok. We one again called on VHF - no reply. We also called by phone, no reply. We waited until 9 in the morning and called them again and this time they picked up and we could bunker diesel. We where then approached by the marina crew, who wanted us to pay for two hours (€15) even though we have just been waiting for service. I consider this very aggressive and rude - we will newer use that...

Great place to enjoy a drink or food (or both!) By the water. parking is pretty cheap, and the food choices were awesome! I enjoyed a Tango (beer with gooseberry flavor added), and a bacon cheeseburger. Both delicious! There is an oceanside pool, and a fitness area with various workout equipment, & I saw a film crew of some sort filming just off the beach side at Praia da torre. (I wonder what they were filming 🤔) Lovely place, the atmosphere...
