Catalazete Cervejaria — Restaurant in Oeiras

A very unfortunate evening. Although the food was excellent, the service was terrible. We were a group of four and ordered at the same time. Three of the group were served and we were told that the fourth order would be delayed. The other three persons had nearly finished their meal while the last order had still not been filled, at which point we opted to cancel the order. This request was refused by the waiter who insisted on filling the order anyway. The order was brought to the table later and we asked that the order be returned as we were no longer interested. The waiter become quite belligerent and insisted that we were in the wrong and actually said that he had considered calling the police! I the end we were not charged for the cancelled order but not without a very uncomfortable encounter with the waiter...

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars instead of just 5, I would! We loved it so much the first time, that we went there again the next day. We've tried several tapas: croquetes, oysters, potato peel chips, choco frito, stuffed crab- all of them were amazing. For the main dish we've had the most amazing octopus, a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak (bife a catalazete), arroz do mar, and last but not least- the desserts were to die for. Everything was delicious, super fresh, the the portions were huge. Plus the guys who served us were always kind and helpful, and the service was very fast. 100% recommend and I can't wait to go back to Portugal to eat...

Wonderful venue for our first meal in Portugal. We didn’t have reservation but were seated immediately, just before the lunch crowd arrived. The restaurant started filling up quickly, I see that the locals are enjoying their meals here too.

We ordered Stuffed Crab, Padron Peppers, and Arroz do Mar. The dishes were amazing in terms of flavour and freshness. When request for gluten free option to enjoy with the stuffed crab, I was offered boiled vegetables (cauliflower, carrot and peas) paired with amazing local olive oil.
