We recently travelled with EasyJet Holidays and overall, the flight and transfer services were excellent. The flight was comfortable, punctual, and well-managed, and the transfer from the airport to the hotel was smooth and efficient. These parts of the trip were as expected, stress-free and very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, the hotel experience was a bit disappointing.
While the facilities themselves were generally fine, the service left a lot to be desired. On arrival, after a long flight, we were invited to have a coffee while waiting to check in later. We thought this was amazingly thoughtful. And so we went to the breakfast restaurant as instructed but were then told by another staff member we would have to pay for it – a small but disappointing turn of events that immediately took away the good feeling. For just a few cents, the hotel lost the wow factor.
Once checked-in later (as we'd arrived too early - our fault) my room had a slight unpleasant smell, which detracted from the first impression, and I also noticed that you only get one sachet of instant coffee per person. In a five-star hotel? You get more in a Travelodge!
Also, that night, we noticed a generator outside the hotel that ran 24/7. The noise from the generator was clearly audible even with the windows closed, and it made sleep very difficult. When we raised this with the hotel manager, he appeared surprised, but after hearing it for himself (after we had to persuade him to come outside) he failed to offer an alternative room. There was no real attempt to resolve the issue leading us to wonder why we even bothered to tell him, and so we were left to endure another disturbed night.
The breakfast boxes for early departures were also poorly handled. We were told to expect pastries and water which would have been fine, but received hard sandwiches unsuitable for dietary needs and items that could not easily be eaten before a flight. There was no opportunity to choose (which I have suggested), so the quality and thoughtfulness were disappointing.
I did write directly to the hotel three days ago outlining these concerns in detail, but as yet, I have received no reply or even acknowledgement, which I suppose speaks volumes about their approach to guest feedback.
In summary, whilst the flight and transfer were faultless – and I would book again through EasyJet Holidays without hesitation – the hotel service fell far below expectations and detracted from an otherwise well-arranged trip. Perhaps it was because we booked via EasyJet we got the service we...
Read moreIf you decide on this hotel beware the baths are extremely slippery. I found once wet the surface was oily and it was hard to stand safely. I was extremely careful when trying to climb out but my foot slipped and I fell hitting my arm on the side of the bath as I fell. The response from the hotel when I complained was apathetic and they did not wish to even check on the bath to see the problem but did then send a bath mat. I went to a pharmacy to get some medication to treat the severe bruising and returned to ask for the hotel to pay for this. They refused giving the impression the they thought it was my fault and asking for compensation was unreasonable but then gave me an insulting bottle of water and a cake. A half hearted apology came just as I was leaving with no chance for me to pursue the matter further. I do not think they will address this issue. I was with a coach party and several members of the group agreed their bath was exceptionally slippery and although they didn't fall felt they were unsafe. My entire lower arm is still swollen bruised and painful 6...
Read moreGood hotel with few down points. Check in and out no issues with good approach at the reception, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds however pillows are getting firm over the time. Shower over the bathtub caused that floor every time was flooded. Noise from outside is well isolated, less from inside of the hotel where you can hear other guests. Hotel is a bit far from the city centre and located between school and current construction site where work is in progress in week days, no city view because of this. Breakfast is ok but noting special. Service is doing great however every day is the same with limited choice of fruits and vegetables. Also coffee isn’t the best. The weirdest thing I have ever seen is that you get complimentary bottles of water in the room only on your arrival. For the rest of the days you won’t get any 🤯 unless you pay for the one from mini bar. Understand all hotels want to be environmental friendly but offer water dispensers for the guests if bottle water is...
