Finally, instead of the dump and wasteland that appeared during the metro construction—where locals used to throw their trash just because they were too lazy to walk to the bin—there is now a great park with trees. It’s an excellent decision that they planted not just young saplings, as is usually done in Portugal, but already fairly mature trees. This will speed up the moment when the park becomes truly green. Now it’s no longer a wasteland and a hangout for local misfits, but something decent.

The next step is for local residents to learn to clean up after their dogs — but that’s a broader issue in Portugal, as Portuguese people generally don’t pick up...

This park is primarily an apology from the Canadian development company that built the gigantic mothership of a hotel that dominates the view. Darem o nome de um fulano que nada fez pela zona foi o mais ridículo que podiam ter feito. Nem tem sentido. Uma zona que sempre esteve abandonada por todas as entidades oficiais e que nada fizeram e agora um iluminado qualquer lembrou-se de colocar o nome de alguém que não faz sentido nenhum. Os locais dizem somente o parque atrás do hotel e assim vai ficar. Enfim, alguém quis ficar bem na foto... Só me apraz a palavra ''ridiculos''!!! O parque deveria ter o nome da zona, Parque Urbano da Lapa e pronto, em homenagem aos habitantes locais. Têm muito no país onde colocar o nome da pessoa. Este não é certamente o indicado. Aproveitem para porem as luzes a funcionar e de preferência mais fortes. À noite é uma escuridão que ninguém põe...
