Great food, worst service in this city.
Nothing like being asked to move our table in the middle of the meal to accomodate another reservation (we had one as well and sit where we were told, so no planning on their part).
And the gal of the old lady when we were baffled, looking at her after this request, asking us full of arrogance if we weren't portuguese and didn't understand what she said.
Plus, the best part, that same reservation only arrived when we were leaving. No point in interrupting our meal at all.
The food was tasty but took so long to arrive we were wondering if they were still slaughtering the animal in the back. Also the table next to us had their bags tucked under the table and the server kicked them three times in less than 5 minutes. After the third time they just got up and left without ordering. As you can imagine, so many tables tucked together, space is a premium.
Pro tip, wash your hands before arriving, their bathrooms were filthy, never saw a hand dryer roll sprawled across the...
Read moreI’m late getting to this review - we were there mid March this year - but was just looking back through photos of our trip, saw the ones from this restaurant, and had to add my thoughts. My wife and I had searched and circled this place as one we wanted to try, and we weren’t disappointed. We eat dinner earlier than Porto locals apparently, so we were the first customers of the night, but the kitchen was already in full prep mode and had the specials on the board ready to make. I forget the names of the dishes we had but it’s easy to look at the photos and see that one was salmon and potatoes (my wife’s), and the other (mine) was duck and a seasoned pumpkin smash. There was also soup and bread to start, and some nice cold Super Bock beers for each of us. The food was absolutely delicious, and although we never had one bad meal in Porto, this was one of the very best. Highly recommended, and worth the not too...
Read moreOur last visited for lunch from 3 days ago was horrible. It seemed like they had some new workers and the lady had rude behavior. She took our order and our payment. When we want to clarify about the price, she didn't say anything. The prato do dia's is inconsistent. I hope they can take this into consideration. Charging a cola for 2.20 euros is ridiculous when normally it is included to the prato fo dia price. We will not comeback here. Go to other restaurants with better service and kind staff behavior.
Pros Entrance accessible for wheelchairs The restaurant has great decorations and is clean. They only have indoor seating. Inexpensive food with normal portions. They sell Portuguese traditional food, like bacalhau, etc. Paid parking is available nearby. The location is on the corner of the military museum. Payment in cash...
