I just left this supermarket completely shaken. I went in to buy a 10L pack of Monchique water, and as I grabbed it, the box gave way and one of the water bags fell on the ground. Immediately, a kind employee (a blonde, middle-aged woman) came to assist me and asked one of the owners if she could bring me a new box, since the remaining one on the shelf was also damaged.
It was a simple, easily resolved situation — until the owner’s wife stormed over, screaming that I had to pay for the broken box, yelling that I wouldn’t leave the store without paying for it. Mind you, I was still doing my shopping and had no intention of walking out without paying for my items.
This woman came aggressively close to my face, creating a threatening and humiliating scene. I even had to ask her if she wanted me to call the police — that’s how hostile and inappropriate her behavior was. It was shocking and absolutely unacceptable.
She kept repeating that I shouldn’t come back, and to be honest, with that kind of treatment, who wants to do so?! But I do feel the public needs to know how this business is being run — no customer should be treated like this....
Read moreI came to this city from Japan on a trip in June.
And I stopped here.
The shop staff were very kind and lovely.
They used the translation function on my phone to talk to me, since I don't speak much English or Portuguese.
We also went to see Dom Luis Bridge, which he recommended.
It became one of my good memories of Portugal.
Thank you.

Read moreI had a great experience at this small store — despite its size, they have all the basic essentials you might need. What really stood out was the quality of the service. Everyone was incredibly attentive, especially the manager, who went above and beyond to help. It's rare to find such genuine and thoughtful customer service these days. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!...
