This was my third or fourth time at Ramos Pinto. My uncle and I dis the tour the first time and it was really interesting and insightful. Ramos Pinto was the first Port makers to export to the former colonies, something unheard of until then as England was the only profitable market for Port wine. Their marketing strategies were a big game changer back then and completely different from the other pretentious Port Houses whose main market was England. The biggest gem, however, is the lady called Monica. We met her when we first went to Porto and then again and again. She is the most pleasant person with this huge and friendly personality. Ramos Pinto is my favourite Port and it is thanks to their staff (Monica) and their laid back style. There are no enough stars...

Best tawny blends in porto wine, period. Graham's is jealous 🤪 But the guided tour and the tasting room need improvement. The tour guides need better education. Self-guided tours without rushing wine enthusiasts such as myself would be nice (check out Taylor and Croft's self-guided tours for ideas). Give us plenty of time, let us explore the cellars at our own pace. And, in the tasting room, employ waiters who are not waiting for the 6 o'clock ring to go home as fast as they can. People without passion for wine, should not serve wine. Adriano Ramos Pinto's passion for porto wine is a distant memory now, I can tell whenever I visit the Ramos Pinto cellar and...

The tour is lovely. It comes in two parts: the first is a historical tour of the company and offices, while the second is of the cellar. I usually am not too interested in old offices and such, but I did find it fascinating. They have done a wonderful job of preservation. The cellar tour allowed us to discuss the details of production and ageing. My guide was extremely knowledgeable, answering all of my odd questions. The tour takes something like 45 minutes and ends with a tasting. I think it's a great value. I know tours are conducted in at least Portuguese, Spanish, and English. I recommend booking early as the first to book a slot chooses...

Came here as recommended by Porto Walkers. I came alone and did a tour. It was a great and informative tour, the guide kept me engaged even though I am by no means a wine connoisseur (I actually dislike alcohol but drink on occasions due to peer pressure) Towards the end, there was a wine tasting for the 3 types of port wine. Each glass has a generous pour. I actually couldn’t finish all 3 glasses as I was a little buzzed towards the end. To tell the truth, I also found the first alcohol that I actually liked (white port wine to be specific, and to a slight extent tawny port). Also there’s a nice selection of gifts and souvenirs. Enjoyed it.
