We’ve just left and what can I say but RESERVE NOW!! Fernando and the staff made the entire experience such an amazing and intimate setting. We’ve had the pleasure of an awesome guide - Fernando (hope leg day ouch is gone by now - we feel you!!) who broke the entire experience into digestible parts. We had a lot of questions for him and he was very gracious, patient and amazing at answering all of our queries. The cheese pairing, look, we’ve done a lot of wine tours and ours is often a favourite when it’s cheese (or food) paired. It’s such a remarkable experience from start to end and again, all thanks to Fernando. Simply amazing! Muchas gracias/obrigada Fernando for all of the tasting and more. You’re simply, simply fab and made the whole experience and therefore, by extension, the company you work for, a lovely experience in Porto xx
PS. We had a school aged little one with us who was very well-behaved throughout so I highly recommend parents with well-behaved and thoughtful kids to try this. Nothing beats a bit of a day drinking…tasting, I mean. :) our favourite port was the 40 year old + ruby reserva..which we bought a bottle of each, all thanks...

That’s exactly what we got out of visiting Quevedo – an experience. What brought us to Quevedo was the promise of port wine (and a strong recommendation from family), but what got us to fall in love with it and make a second visit was the experience as a whole.
Not only were the port wines incredible, but they were heavenly when paired with the appropriate cheeses or chocolates. Both the port–cheese and port–chocolate combinations were recommended to us by the staff, and we just could not resist – and I’m so glad we didn’t.
And what’s perhaps even more important is how amazing the staff were to us. Fred and Dima were incredibly good hosts to us, explaining the process of port wine production and the differences between the various types of port wines, as well as giving us their personal recommendations and being in general very nice people to talk to. You could tell they love what they do, and their passion for and knowledge of port wines really left a lasting impression on us.
100 % our favorite part of our trip to Porto, and we would (and will) recommend everyone to go experience it in this...
Read moreHappy to report that my two bottles of port wine both made it safely back to the UK with me. Thanks again for an excellent tasting experience, especially after I arrived without a booking, and then spent a very enjoyable couple of hours trying a variety of white and tawny ports. Fernando was an outstanding host who made some really spot on recommendations, including the Colheita 1976 which was so good I had to bring a bottle home. As a solo traveller it’s sadly very common to be left alone to get on with it whilst couples and groups get all of the attention. This experience could not have been more different. Fernando did a great job of figuring out what was likely to appeal to my palate and didn’t hesitate to suggest trying some of the Colheitas which wouldn’t necessarily have been top of my list. If you want a genuinely relaxing and welcoming atmosphere with a top quality range of ports to try then make this a priority to visit. Apologies if I was a bit over enthusiastically chatty, but it’s so nice to be able to talk about different port options with someone who goes out of their way to find the perfect...
