⚠️ If you are considering to move here please read my review
I would give 2 and a half star to my rating being a resident in Gewan Island.
Crystal walk is a beautiful new addition to Doha, it’s great to see, many awesome cafes, However not to live (just yet at least) The apartments being very modern and a fresh feel to Doha, the quality, the maintenance and the daily fire alarms is something I cannot look past. Unless you enjoy feeling like you’re on edge every quiet moment.
My partner and I movement in early this year and I can admit the fire alarms are a daily alert. They are extremely loud, almost if they are ment for a big warehouse, no pre warning if they are testing, they are consist, and go off during times between 3am, right up until 8pm even if seating at a nice peaceful cafe.
We have called several times to UDC about this but but no one answers for the number we are referred to. I am sure I am not the only one along with workers and residents suffer along with us. I want to give this area the benefit of doubt but unfortunately its become close to a nightmare. It is not peaceful what’s so ever, and even if you get a quiet moment, it gets absolutely destroyed by this over the top loud alarm.
Quality of the apartment could have been done so much better from the start, windows have been filthy since the apartments have been made, the floor is not even, tiles inside and outside are poor quality, random workers coming through without warnings and if we called to have someone come to fix something they sent 2 different people during 2 different days for the same issue, and these extreme alarms are like living in a military base camp.
We moved here to start a family and this is definitely not the living state to do so.
It saddens me how it’s gone so wrong, this would be the ultimate it place had this been more professional. I wish if we had a better idea of warnings about all of this we may have reconsidered our choice to post pone until everything was finalised READY for move in.
I really wish I could rate Gewan island apartments more, it is such a beautiful place if you are just visiting but unfortunately to live I would give you a firm warning about the living circumstances that we have to suffer with. These apartments...

Read moreI recently moved to GEWAN ISLAND , one of the new neighbourhoods in The Pearl of Qatar, and I regret it every day. The main issue here is the incessantly loud music that blasting from the streets and which is so extremely loud that you can hear in every part of the apartment. It comes out of the speakers installed all around the island. It’s so disruptive that it completely destroys any sense of peace and tranquility you’d expect in a luxury development like this.
I’ve raised this concern multiple times with UDC, the developers, but they have been completely unresponsive. It’s clear that they don’t care about the well-being of the residents at all. The noise is unbearable, especially in the evening, the nights and early mornings! And there’s no action being taken to address it. Or barely.
The lack of proper management and organisation here is disappointing. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful environment to live in, this place is definitely not it. Sadly, I am extremely unhappy with my decision to live here, and I cannot recommend it to anyone who values...
