Why have I not written a review sooner? Maybe I was too enamored with my rugs? Maybe I just couldn't find the words? We purchased our first rug from Riyaz in 2012 while living in Doha. It was such an incredible experience on top of the quality of rugs. We returned again and again while living there, often taking visitors. After returning to the US, we missed visiting, so I was excited when my husband returned for work. He brought home a couple more. We now own 11 rugs from Riyaz (once you start it is hard to stop). Don't pass up the chance to visit this shop! Must see when in Doha! This place is a treasure within a city of treasures. Expect to spend some time in this gallery/shop, learning about rugs and seeing the most amazing pieces of silk and wool artwork unfurled for your viewing pleasure. Some of the rugs in Riyaz's shop are museum quality, and I've not seen finer rugs for purchase anywhere else. I recently visited "The Rugman" in Doha and was thoroughly impressed with their selection and service. The variety of carpets on display was vast, ranging from nomadic woolen carpets to exquisite silk Kashmiri carpets from the Mr. Riyaz family. Mr. Riyaz was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to help me find the perfect carpet for my home.
