PLEASE READ THIS AS WHOLE
I don’t usually give reviews like this. But I will tell you my story as of today 16.05.2025
I am a Glovo Courier, and as part of my job, I deliver orders to many places including Military Bases, Head Quarters, Hospitals, Private Clinics etc..
Everything goes smooth and well.
Today around 17:20 I came to deliver an order to someone, at first I wasn’t aware that this University is related to the Department of Defence.
I stopped my eBike to double check if I am at the correct place or not, I looked around there was nobody so I assumed I can ride through the front gates to park inside and call the customer I am delivering the order to, so I know where to go next.
Upon entry through the front gates, it came to my surprise that a guard in Military uniform was hiding or in a blind spot to me, he yelled at me, and aimed that I go outside from the gate I entered and come towards the small gate. NOTE: He was tapping on his holster to show me he got a Pistol (if I am correct about this point, then he had a Revolver)
I understood then that I probably entered an off-limits area so I turned my bike and went out of the gates towards the small personal gate from outside.
What did this old man do? Close the small gate in my face and gave me the dirtiest look ever and said call (as in call the customer)
I said okay, I gave her a call, and told her how the guard behaved, she said she’ll come to pick it up.
Within the 30 seconds of me waiting for the customer to come pickup her order, this guard came to me and asked me where I am from. To the reader’s notes, I am half Romanian and half Palestinian. But I am a citizen of both countries, so I wanted to test his waters and said I am from Palestina.
What did he do? Gave me another dirty look and put his hand on his holster (his gun if I am correct) as if he is trying to scare me or as if I am dangerous and I should be aware (lol)
Now the customer came, and she told him I am delivering her order and he should let me through, he started arguing with her and yelling at her. I don’t understand Romanian very well but I can see how uncomfortable he made her feel and I understood he is being too much on her and was being disrespectful and rude, he refused to let me in and told her to grab the Pizza boxes from over the wall/gates. Disgusting behaviour.
Then I believe a Sergeant came or at least a Military personal with a higher rank and the guard started lying to him about how I got inside and was riding around and tried to enter the building etc.. blah blah all lies, Cameras can show everything if investigated.
Bro, let me make one thing clear, you holding a pistol on your side won’t scare me, you picking it up or aiming it at me won’t scare me, I have military background and I would disarm you before you know it if you posed a threat to me.
You are uneducated and I feel ashamed as a Romanian citizen to know that such people serve in our Military, a soldier must have HIGH MORALE and RESPECT towards the ones he’s protecting.
If me going through the University outside gates meant off-limits zone or after-hours no access zone, I understand but you can clearly see I am wearing a Glovo jacket, a Glovo bag and I am clearly a courier not someone who’s causing trouble.
Probably nobody will see this review, but if anyone does, I hope they take the appropriate actions against this so called “guarding soldier” especially with the point where he kept hovering his hand over his holster as if I am any threat to anything at that point.
Let’s not forget the racism part when I mentioned I am from Palestine (as said above) and I hope they investigate him as his actions would put Couriers in danger, and his disrespect towards the nice lady I delivered the order to is unforgivable. I bet he does this to everyone.
All respect to all Soldiers around the world, I salute you.
This one star is meant for this guard. Not the whole University.
I wish you all the best.

An overpriced market can be sometimes found down in the square.
