The museum is right inside the AFI mall, so don't be surprised when the taxi drops you in front of a shopping centre. It was quite the walk from the main entrance as fhe museum is right at the rear of the mall close to the IMAX cinema, Cinemacity. You'd have to walk past a couple of restaurants and the museum will be there on your left.
My family and I had a sensorial time at the Museum. It was the perfect end to our visit to Bucharest and we enjoyed every bit of the stimulations each door to the museum opened. The reception staff were so nice in explaining where to start our adventures. First, with the glass doors where you had to wear gloves before entering, to the bed of nails. Each space was spectacular in the experience they gave.
I enjoyed carving out my body in one of the apparatus at the entrance. There are lockers to hang your jackets and drop your belongings before embarking on one of the must-sees in Bucharest.
I recommend getting tickets in advance even though the queue is not all that...
Read moreThe Museum of Senses in Bucharest is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone seeking a fun and interactive experience. From the moment you step inside, you are transported into a world where perception, science, and art seamlessly merge. The exhibits are cleverly designed to challenge your senses and perceptions of reality. From optical illusions to mind-bending rooms that defy gravity, every corner offers a unique surprise. One of the highlights for me was the Ames Room, where you can see people appear to grow or shrink depending on their position. The Mirror Maze and the Infinity Room were also spectacular and incredibly Instagram-worthy! The museum is well-organized, with clear paths guiding you through the various sensory experiences. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Museum of Senses offers an unforgettable experience that will leave you amazed, amused, and maybe even a little puzzled—in the best way possible. Highly...
Read moreIt’s a borderline scam, but based on other reviews, I am talking about the mall location, not the old one. It is ridiculously expensive, 37 Euro for a family of 4, and there’s really not much there. We came out after 15-20 minutes because there was nothing else to do. You have a few optical illusions on the wall that anyone can print from the internet, a mirror maze that is just way to easy and small, took us, with a toddler mind you, 2 minutes to navigate, some 3d printed things that weren’t even that convincing, a few more rooms with mostly mirrors, some 3d thing where one of the screens was broken, and a few more things here and there, but that’s about it. The picture also cost ~7 euro a pop, the VR another 9 … so its basically highway robbery. I do NOT recommend visiting, just google optical illusion and you’ll have a better, cheaper and more...
