Museum of Telephone History — Attraction in Presnensky District

Frankly speaking, the museum itself should have an overnight success in that the exposition is great and the location is convenient. Anyway there are significant points that must be taken into consideration by the owner. Firstly, if it is a museum, there is no reason to employ former paratroopers with alcoholic backgrounds and a huge belly to keep order inside. The target audience of the museum is mostly about kids and adolescents; thus, the excessive force is not imperative! The "phone guard" was following my child in a way he must have followed a convict. If you want to protect the exhibition, you should install glass shelves. There is no need to confuse kids with intimidating emotions and the club-face-control-style. CCTV cameras are cheaper, better, have to odor, etc. Let's use technologies seeing that there is the 21st century. Secondly, they have a cafe, but!!!!!! There is no one to sell a cup of coffee. Unimaginable. Classical rules of economics don't work here. Supply and demand never crosses together. Finally, there are a few good words. The collection of phones is huge, the walls are clean, the ticket is not expensive - 200 rubles for the adult and 100 rubles for the child. Очень познавательный музей. Не большой, всего один этаж (второй) небольшого офисного здания. Много экспонатов: телефоны, коммутаторы, приборы, телеграфные аппараты,... От рубежа XIX-XX веков и до наших дней. Настоящие. Из тех времен. Со своей историей. Музей возник на основе совсем небольшой - всего несколько экспонатов частной коллекции увлечённого любителя-энтузиаста. Часть экспонатов это все ещё действующие аппараты. Можно послушать, как звучали звонки разных аппаратов на заре их появления. Можно "поработать" телефонисткой, поносить первый переносной телефон. Запустить что нибудь в трубе пневмопочты. Замечательный экскурсовод, у которого помимо рассказов о истории появления конкретного телефона, есть в запасе и истории, связанные с людьми , которые их создавали и интересные события, случаи из истории применения телефонов. В музее можно приобрести небольшие сувениры: магнитики, колокольчики,... До 1000 руб. Коллекция постоянно пополняется. Сотовые телефоны практически не представлены в экспозиции, но работа в этом направлении идёт. Есть небольшой стеклянный куб, куда можно принести и положить (если не жалко) свой старый телефон, которым уже давно не пользуешься, а выбросить - рука не поднимается. А общем, рекомендую! Such a great little museum. Small but packing a punch, not specific to Russia, but showing a wonderful collection of telephones through history.
