Unfortunately you won't find anything special about this place: Interior 1/10 No air conditioning Terrible uncomfortable seating Food 3/10 Too expensive and a terrible selection of food. You won't find any Indian person saying that this is a positive experience. It's all vegetarian, which is okay, but the service is non existant and ingredients are the cheapest possible. I'm not sure what I payed for. I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed.
No credit card acceptance. I also needed to take off my shoes. Eeerrmm no thank you, the floors, even if washed, are not clean like in my house, why should I treat this place with respect when my date is sitting on terrible wooden planks instead of comfortable seating.
The people who praise this place only praise it because they can't accept the fact that they got ripped off.
The seats are terrible and imposing. The explanation of dishes leaves you wanting more. Overall 2/10
Skip this place. It's not authentic, it's not an experience which you will want to share with friends. You know what - go eat at a better place...
Read moreThe Russian staff at this restaurant is incredibly rude and the food, although quite good, is really overpriced for the experience. I was very disappointed the last time I visited this restaurant.
I called a day in advance to book a table for a friend's birthday and everything was fine, but when we came to the restaurant they sat us instead at the corner of the bar. Okay, fine, I wasn't going to complain. But then the hostess came back ten minutes later and told us that actually we were taking up three spaces and we needed to move so that we were both sitting leg to leg, shoulder to shoulder squished on a bench with two other strangers. We had less than a meter of space for the two of us at the bar. Meanwhile there were plenty of open tables, which were empty until friends of the staff would come. When we asked if we could move to one of the free tables the staff brushed us off and said "there were lots of people coming in soon" and we could not move. Definitely a novel experience but save your sanity and go to one of the many other Indian...
Read moreYes, its unusual. On Patriarchs Pond, where I lived for very many years, this restaurant wouldn't be out of place in the ultra-hip Kreuzberg district of Berlin or London's uber-cool Shoreditch. First, to manage expectations, it doesn't serve meat and it doesn't serve alcohol. It doesn't have a menu, not even normal tables and chairs. So far so hipster. It does however have the most mouthwatering Nepalese food you've ever tasted.
You take your shoes off at the entrance, crouch on a cushion in a crowded Indian kitchen and are fed a series of courses that will have you begging for more. There is live music in the form of a crouching guy with an electric guitar who plays ambient music that wouldn't be out of place in a David Lynch movie. 2000 roubles for dinner.
Is it for everyone? Certainly not. Does it appeal to the mass market? Also, no. Don't come here if you're looking for standard Indian restaurant fare. This wouldn't be for you. No Rogan Josh here. But come for the experience and stay...
