When we went out of home- it was an ok weather. The House of Flowers itself I cannot review at all, as we didn’t have the possibility to go inside due to weather conditions. But the workers- should be more professional. As first- when I have asked a lady a question on the entrance- she has heard the question very well- but made a look like she didn’t hear it and gave me the feeling that she is ignoring me. As we already arrived- we decided to go inside. But the rain was so strong, that it was not smart at all. Call me stupid- but I asked nicely is there any chance that we can come back tomorrow for the same tickets. The answer was obvious- no. Honestly- I understand if we would go inside of the museum- and would want to go out and come back- but we didn’t even make a step inside of the park. As an exception due to weather- they could be more human and say- no problem. But “policy” or whatever…. So- for sorry we didn’t see the museum and for sure not...

Visited the Museum on a weekday, relatively easy trolleybus journey from Republic Square.

The 'main' museum building is currently closed, but the House of Flowers and associated museum is open as usual. Relatively inexpensive at 600 Serbian Dinar.

The Mausoleum is very sombre, as expected. Although the regime is long gone, there is still a security attache, which stops anyone causing problems.

Lots of memorabilia surrounding the actual grave, mostly translated into English. We arrived with only a few other tourists, so there was no rush, and plenty of space.

The gardens are beautiful. Even off season the plants and statues are worth a sit down and relaxing by.

The museum has lots of items from Marshal Tito himself, uniforms, furniture and the like. Medals and awards from various countries are out on display such as his Order of the Bath from Queen Elizabeth II.

Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in Socialist Yugoslavia, and the...

A "flowery" mausoleum. In the southern suburbs of Belgrade stands the House of Flowers, the mausoleum of Josip Broz Tito. In 1975, architect Stjepan Kralj designed this winter garden called Cvećara ("Flower Shop") as a kind of country retreat for Marshal Tito. The building, equipped with work and rest rooms, was located near the official residence of the Yugoslav president, Tito often stayed here. According to his wishes, Tito was buried here on May 8, 1980; his grave is sealed with a 9-ton white marble block. Because of the many flowers that surrounded the grave until the collapse of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the mausoleum was nicknamed the "House of Flowers".

This place is a wonderful destination to learn a bit about the history of the former Yugoslavia. It’s not just a museum—it’s a journey through time that helps you understand the country’s past and its cultural heritage. The complex includes the resting place of Josip Broz Tito, surrounded by a peaceful garden that adds a solemn yet inspiring atmosphere. Inside, the large museum displays a fascinating collection of Tito’s personal items, gifts from around the world, and exhibits that showcase the development and vision of Yugoslavia during his leadership. A must-visit for anyone interested in history, politics, or simply discovering a unique chapter of the Balkans’ story.
