I recently visited House of Balinese after receiving a thoughtful Christmas gift voucher for a Body Massage and Body Scrub—and I’m glad I finally made time to use it. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and memorable.
The reservation process was seamless. The staff were prompt and responsive, and finding the place was easy—it’s located conveniently right next to the exit of Springleaf MRT station. I arrived about 30 minutes early, and the receptionist, Anna, was warm and professional. As a first-timer, I had a number of questions, and she patiently explained the process to me. There’s an option to include aroma oils for a $5 top-up, and you can sample them at the counter before deciding. Each oil comes with a description of its benefits, which is a nice touch. The waiting area itself was calming and set the tone for a peaceful experience.
If you’re doing both a body scrub and massage, you get to choose the order: Option 1: Scrub → Shower → Massage Option 2: Massage → Scrub → Shower
I appreciated having this flexibility to tailor the experience to my comfort.
My masseuse, Ain, guided me to the treatment room and clearly explained what to expect. Throughout the session, she checked in frequently to ensure the pressure was okay and that I felt comfortable. Despite her petite frame, Ain had an incredible amount of strength—her technique was both powerful and precise. While it was quite intense and painful at points (in a good way), it helped loosen some stubborn knots. It was so effective and relaxing that I almost drifted off to sleep.
At the end of the session, I was offered a choice between warm water or ginger tea, which rounded off the experience on a wholesome note.
Suggestions for Improvement: The treatment rooms are not soundproof, so occasional noise from the hallway did interfere slightly with the otherwise tranquil atmosphere.
During the shower, it might help for the staff to explain how to use the shower system, as it wasn’t quite the typical setup.
Despite a few minor hiccups, my first experience at House of Balinese was genuinely satisfying. The professionalism, strength, and attentiveness of the masseuse stood out, and I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. I would definitely return for...

👐🏻The handiwork of therapist AG & Shan were awwwwww superb! Big thank you to therapist AG, who not only knead my hubby's pain away she went out of the way and perform dry cupping & applied a kind of medicated oil to ease his shoulder pain that he has been having for the past week without additional charges, solely just out of her own goodwill. Her spontaneous initiative reflects just how she care about her client's wellbeing. Because of her kindness, my hubby woke up today & told me the pain that he been suffering from his shoulder, is no more. ❤️🙏🏻 THANK YOU AG! 🙏🏻❤️
Therapist Shan skillful hand's was an absolute magical gorgeous dance on all my aches, such an enjoyment! 😁 Super appreciate her working on the harder knots, which she just seems to know! Read moreI recently visited House of Balinese for a 90-minute massage and wanted to share my experience. I was excited to try out the place because of the high rating, but I was a bit surprised by the service. I’ve been to several massage places in Singapore, and this one was quite different from what I’m used to.
The therapist who attended to me wasn’t very welcoming; she didn’t smile or seem friendly when approaching me. Additionally, she seemed a bit impatient when I needed more time to get undressed, which made me feel rushed. I also noticed that there wasn’t a proper cabinet to store my bag, so I had to leave it on the floor.
During the massage, I noticed that the therapist focused almost entirely on my legs and ankles, repeatedly massaging the same spot without much variation. Unfortunately, there was hardly any attention given to my feet, which I was really looking forward to. I expected a more balanced approach that included the feet, especially since that’s an important part of a relaxing massage experience. The repeated pressure on my legs, particularly on the bones and nerves, became uncomfortable and even painful at times.
There were also some issues with etiquette. When moving between different parts of my body, the therapist didn’t handle the towel with care, leaving me feeling exposed and cold at times. When it was time to turn over, she lifted the entire towel without considering modesty, which made me feel uncomfortable. At the end of the session, the lights were suddenly turned on brightly without any gradual dimming, which was quite jarring and disrupted the relaxation experience.
On a positive note, I did enjoy the massage on my upper back. The technique was average but helped relieve some tension in that area. However, overall, I was disappointed with the experience.
I hope this feedback helps improve the service for...
