Kalk Bay Harbour is one of those places that feels alive with character and history, just like the waves that have shaped it over time. It’s a working harbour, so there’s always something happening, fishermen mending their nets, colourful boats bobbing gently in the water, and the scent of fresh-caught fish carried on the breeze. I’ve wandered here in every kind of weather, from bright summer days when the market stalls are buzzing, to quiet, moody mornings when the mist rolls in and everything feels still.

The harbour is more than just a spot to visit, it’s a living postcard of Cape Town’s fishing heritage, with a community spirit that’s impossible to miss. Seals bask lazily on the slipway, children line the pier with fishing rods, and locals greet each other like old friends. Just like Fish Hoek Beach and Noordhoek Beach, this place holds a part of my story. It’s where I’ve come to think, to watch the world go by, and to feel grounded by the simple rhythm of life by the water. Every visit leaves me reminded of how special it is to grow up along this coastline and...

This tranquil beach offers breathtaking mountain views. The gentle lapping of the waves creates a soothing soundscape. The shallow Tidal pool provides a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Even non-swimmers can relax and splash around without worry. The designated swimming areas are clearly marked for easy identification. Lifeguards are present to ensure the safety of all visitors. The calm, clear waters invite you to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty surrounding you. It's the perfect place for a peaceful and worry-free beach day. You should add Kalk Bay beach to your bucket list if you haven't been...

It’s the most marvellous village I’ve ever seen. There’s a great downtown with a large collection of restaurants and pubs, including small but wonderful art shops and boutiques. The beach is great with fantastic views - the Brass Bell, Harbour House, Cape to Cuba all offer some of the best (and so many more). The only downside, of course, is the Main...
