The interlinking trails in the nature reserve above Kalk Bay make for a magnificent mix and match hiking experience. None of the paths we hiked were particularly challenging, this is a fairly easy hike and suitable for anyone who is moderately fit. We ended our hike in Spes Bona, and the old, mossy indigenous forest was a rejuvenating way to close off a wonderful day on the mountain. The fynbos and its abundant flowers, colours, textures, and smells was breathtaking. We got lucky with a cool, misty, and mostly overcast day. Do take plenty of water and lots of sunblock regardless the conditions when you set out.
