Virgin Active Gym Loftus — Local services in Gauteng

I joined the Virgin Active gym at Loftus last month and was expecting to be debited a discounted membership fee, as I am enrolled in the Discovery Vitality plan. However, I was charged the full membership fee instead. I was assured that a refund would be processed by Friday, November 8th, but to date, I have yet to receive it.

I have repeatedly contacted Virgin Active's customer care team to resolve this issue, receiving only assurances that they would look into the matter and apologies for the delay. I have also followed up numerous times with a consultant named Bothshelo, yet the refund remains outstanding.

Yesterday I went to Virgin Active Loftus and had a valid friend pass on the mobile app for my mother to join me. When she showed it to the manager, Charlotte, the manager refused to let her in, saying that my mother has no intention to join the gym as my mother resides in Hermanus where there is no Virgin Active gym. Nevertheless, I had a valid friend pass and was treated very rudely by the manager; I do not understand why they hand out friend passes if they will not honour it. I had a friend from Port Elizabeth join many times with a friend pass and so I was embarrassed in front of my mother. This is the gym I go to and I absolutely LOVE IT! first the staff is very welcoming, the ladies changing room is very spacious, with showers, sauna and steam room. There is also a play room for your kids, but they have to be members as well, I've brought my nephew and niece there once and they had the best time, plenty of toys available and 3 staff members watching over them. It's perfect for kids of all ages. Then the equipment upstairs includes weight training stations, treadmill, all kinds. The classes include spin, Pilates, yoga, shape, HIIT or HEAT as they call it, kick boxing, and obviously the main studio is available for your personal training when there are no classes scheduled.
