In theory a good destination, in practice poorly executed.
Eastwoods has been around for years and the formula is largely unchanged. Food, drink and sport (rugby) on the television.
The food is decent, with some reasonable value for money choices. It fills you up and tastes good. It is nothing out of the ordinary though.
The drinks are quite well priced, with certain brands enjoying favourable prices over others. A popular attraction are afternoon specials on cocktails and certain drinks, every day.
The establishment is massive, great for game days where it will overflow, but terrible on quieter evenings. Waiters are everywhere yet service is nowhere to be found.
The waiters are competent, pleasant and generally alright, but weird organization and management of them as a whole seems to result in the waiters doing a lot of nothing.
Problems arise, seemingly insurmountable problems, if you try move to a different table. Payment is another bugbear, with very strict, and unpleasantly enforced (with no communication before ordering I must add) rules as to payments with cash or cards. It makes little sense and customers are not treated well where this aspect is concerned.
I have yet to be visited by a manager or anyone other than a waiter, who enquires as to whether everything is alright and if the experience is pleasant. On a busy day, I maybe understand this, on a quiet day there is no reason not to check in with customers and their welfare in one's establishment.
Big delays often take place when ordering food, if it ever ever arrives. Twice my food has never materialised.
One does not go there for the service. Some may say that would be a naive stance in the first place, but as a well established, and pricey enough establishment, some level of adequacy in service is alright to expect.
Go there for the game days, do not expect to be there for a short time, and go in an organised, responsible group (where everyone does really pay their share of the bill) and you'll get by just fine, despite the...
Read moreI am writing to bring to your attention the extremely poor service my friends and I received during our visit to your restaurant on 11 August 2024. We were a group of four women who came in expecting a pleasant dining experience, but instead, we were met with service that fell far below acceptable standards. From the moment we were seated, the service was inadequate. We were left unattended for a considerable amount of time before anyone approached our table. After finally placing our orders, we experienced an unacceptable wait time of over an hour and a half with no updates or explanations from the staff. What made the situation even more frustrating was when we requested to speak with the manager after our long wait. When the manager eventually arrived, instead of offering an apology or any form of resolution, we were simply told that the restaurant was busy. This response was dismissive and completely disregarded the poor service we had endured. No effort was made to address our concerns, nor was any attempt made to improve our experience. The entire evening was a significant letdown. We left the restaurant feeling undervalued and disrespected as customers. This kind of service is unacceptable for any establishment, especially one that prides itself on hospitality. I strongly urge you to review the service standards at your restaurant and ensure that such experiences do not happen to other patrons. I would appreciate a response to this complaint and hope that appropriate measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences...

Eastwood is a chilled spot that attracts a trendy crowd, offering a relaxed atmosphere perfect for unwinding. The pub boasts nice, affordable food with drink combo specials, making it a great value for money. There are plenty of different seating options all around the place, ensuring there's a perfect spot for everyone, whether you're an individual, a couple, or a group of friends. The pub also features screens throughout, so if you enjoy good music or watching sports on TV, Eastwood is the place to be.
However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The pub's large size means that one waiter often has to serve many scattered tables at once, which can result in slow service. Additionally, food can take a long time to arrive, and waiting for the bill can be a lengthy process. Due to these service delays, it can be easy to walk out without paying.
Despite these issues, Eastwood remains a popular spot due to its vibrant atmosphere, good food, and entertainment options. With some improvements in service efficiency, it could become an even better destination for...
