The worst experience we have had so far! If I could give 0 stars, I would. We came to check the bookstores as it was recommended to come visit this small book alley. We walked into a bookstore to check out the books. My boyfriend found a one piece book that was 6,000 won. He gave the owner 50,000 won and the owner just straight up pocketed it. He kept pushing us out and we waited for our change. He was extremely rude and just would not give us the change. It was extremely downgrading and horrible customer service. If you want to keep your business going, at least be honest and not steal someone’s money. Please if you come here just look at the books and not try to buy anything. Do not buy anything from here. Horrible, horrible experience. This is why you should stick to libraries. We didn’t take a picture of the bookstore. However, this was the best image I...

The book street or book alley is a book lover's paradise. Secondhand books of all kinds can be found and purchased here for a very reasonable price. The downside for most tourists is that most books are in Korean. However, there's a nice amount of English books stuffed in random sections here and there. You just have to look for them. You can explore all the maze-like shops with 4- to 6-feet stacks of books threatening to topple over that make up the shelves, walls, and nearly leave no space to navigate. There are several cafes hidden within enclosed areas like basements or up rickety staircases that seem to lead nowhere. Finding these hidden cafes is just part of the fun. 😁 Just don't expect any organization or Dewey decimal...

Bookstore Alley in Bosu-dong, Jung-gu is famous for its library density. Located between Bosu-dong and Bupyeong-dong, this alley is filled with traditional bookstores, galleries, and coffee shops. In the past, this place was famous for its book street, but recently, various cultural spaces, art galleries, and cafes have opened, providing more diverse things to enjoy.

From an architectural point of view, the bookstore alley has been reborn as a fun cultural space that preserves the history and culture of the region while adding a modern touch. In addition, while providing artistic enjoyment such as books, art, and culture in the city, it plays a big role in the cultural life of citizens by maintaining a quiet atmosphere.

The alley smelt of old books. Romantic! The alley smelt of old books. Even if you don't buy any books here, you can still enjoy the mood. In the middle of the alley, there is a book cafe named 우리글방(Uri-geulbang). It's a good place to take a rest. They sell small desserts, coffee, beverages, and also old books. And the shop is full of second-hand books, posters and LPs. Great atmosphere :-)

Nice alley of tiny stores with mostly old books and vintage material (posters, vinyl records...). You can leaf through the books inside the stores or visit the bookstore cafe of the street. Apart from Korean books, you can find a few novels, artbooks and magazines in English and Japanese. A worthy place to visit if you are in the area.
