This was easily my favourite meal of my three weeks traveling around South Korea. I tried the braised short ribs (galbi-jjim). It was incredible - soft, tender, falling off the bone, and bathing in a rich, sweet (but not too sweet) sauce. There were sheets of rice noodles and some chunks of carrots and radish in there too. I was dining solo and was given the medium size. The dish also came with delicious banchan and a serving of soft tofu soup (which is one of my favorites). I was so stuffed but I almost finished everything because it was that good and I hated the thought of leaving any of it behind. The cold tea was also so tasty and refreshing that I finished the whole jug.
What made this meal even better was the super sweet owner and her incredibly warm and wonderful friends. They welcomed me in and chatted with me despite the language barrier. The owner speaks Japanese and at least one of her friends is actually from Japan, while I am an English-speaker who is learning basic Japanese and has even less Korean ability. We had a such lovely time together!
I highly recommend visiting this place if you’re ever in Busan. The restaurant is easy to find and is not too far from BIFF Square (maybe a 10 minute walk from the main entrance to the square). I will...
Read moreIf you're looking for a comforting, satisfying Korean meal, look no further than Gwangbogjib. We recently dined here and were blown away by the quality and flavor of every dish we tried.
The beef stew was the standout — rich, hearty, and packed with tender, flavorful beef that melted in our mouths. It had that deep, slow-cooked taste that only comes from true care in the kitchen.
Equally impressive was the soft tofu soup, which had just the right balance of spice and warmth. Silky tofu in a bold, savory broth made it a perfect complement to the beef.
And we can’t forget the pancake — crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside, with just the right amount of chew. It was easily one of the best we've had, and a must-order if you visit.
The service was warm and attentive, and the food came out hot and fast. Whether you’re craving comfort food or just want an unforgettable Korean meal, Gwangbogjib is absolutely...
Read moreWas walking around the area and decided to try out this google top-rated restaurant. It is indeed a very good restaurant. The environment was simple but extremely comfy, and food was very nice. The lady boss was very very friendly! She recommended me her best braised beef dish, it was absolutely a must-try dish. The beef was very tender. Finally i tried something different other than chigae, samgyeop-sal, jjamppong, bulgogi or korean bbq. I tried the homemade korean tea too, it is very different than other tea and i absolutely like it! Would like to try out her “potato pizza” with bacon and cheese! Will definitely come again...
