Jungmun Golf Club — Attraction in Seogwipo-si

Amazing golf course by the water that’s well maintained. As a tourist, everyone was super friendly, however would acknowledge that there is still somewhat of a language barrier.

Course difficulty wasn’t terrible for a 20 handicap. Fairways are mostly wide and forgiving.

Would definitely go again.

The review is from a tourist’s perspective that golfed the first time in Korea: Club and shoes rentals are available Everyone is dressed to the 9s, we were the most underdressed. Womp. Caddy is required. Our caddy’s English wasn’t the best but she did her best in terms of giving us tips of where to hit, OB and hazard warnings, breaks on the green. The caddy also marks the ball on the green for you. We had to ask our caddy to keep track of our score. They requested us to take a 20 minute meal break after hole 9. There’s a timer that you can start once you sit down. There seems to be an option to order food via the cart from what I’ve seen on IG, but we were not provided that option. Not very foreigners friendly.

I came here 3 times since I was in jeju for a little trip with friends. I tried the practice range which was pretty good but a bit expensive compared to Korean price.

The real problem of this golf course is that they don’t care about foreigners. I tried to make a reservation three times and the three times they told me something different about the reservation. We told me to come at 7am to make a reservation, for which I took 25 minutes taxi ride to tell me it was already full booked. They told me to come the next day and it will be good but when I did come the next day an other person told me it was full for one month !

I started to be a little angry and he added that now I can play the next day. Since I was leaving on the day I was just disappointed and a bit mad.

As an avid golfer currently living abroad, I was extremely disappointed by the treatment I received at this golf course. I was refused access solely based on the fact that I am a foreigner. No justification, no courtesy — just a blunt rejection. Golf is supposed to be a sport of openness, respect, and shared passion. Sadly, this course seems to have missed that memo.
