Namsan Tower and Namsam (Nam Mountain). Went hiking up Namsan which is located within the Jung-Yu district of south central Seoul. Took about 40 minutes up with a couple of breaks to enjoy the view. Along the way there were a couple of cherry blossoms trees and tulips blossoming. There are many locals who hike or cycle here. Our highest hill in Singapore is Bukit Timah Hill at about 164m and located kinda out of the way. Namsan is centrally located with multiple entry points and plus their 4 seasons. I’m sure apart from winter, the locals would be enjoying the walk up and down in the evenings. Traveling allows me to see the difference my country has vs what other country has, the pros and the cons. I definitely appreciate the pros and while I accept the cons (because no choice), it really helps to widen one’s perspective.

Gorgeous at night! Besides its fantastic day and night views, it has a lot to offer, from its numerous dining options, adventure theme parks, game arcade, observatory with 360-degree panoramic view of Seoul, photo-taking hot spots, scenic hiking trails and more. Namsan Seoul Tower was first established as a broadcast tower to send out TV and radio signals in 1969. The top of the tower is at 479.7m above sea level with Namsan Mountain at 243m and the tower’s own height at 236.7m, making it one of the tallest towers in the East. The view of the tower is amazing beautiful in different season. On nightfall, N Seoul Tower lights up in different colour to show the air quality that can be viewed from afar by the public.

The road that we took to the tower was beautiful. I do warn you that it is a long journey tho! So preferably do take the route that includes a bus transport to the tower if you are not in the mood for walking. Once you reach the entrance of the tower you are greeted with a beautiful view which is even more stunning if you do buy the tickets and take the elevator to the observation deck. There, you can watch the lively city which is always lovely to look at. We went there in mid May. I personally think it is a great time where the weather is suitable for such an activity.

Amazing place. The tower view is spectacular. Under the tower are various shops, a GS25, restaurants, cafes, etc. However, to me the true gem is the forest hiking trails throughout. Take some time and explore these trails and you'll find secluded outdoor gyms with free weights, challenging hikes, remnants of the Joseon Dynasty city wall. It's a tranquil place. I didn't like going to the tower on weekends as it was too crowded. The trails are where my heart lies.

There is a free shuttle going up from Myeong dong and I would highly recommend everyone to take the shuttle as it is a rather long walk/long queue for the lift to the mid point. There is another long queue for the tram and another one for the Seoul tower. I don’t think the view worths the time spent (1.5 hours) in waiting, especially if you are with kids or elderly. If you ran out of places to go then you could consider this to kill time.

We walked through the park on the way to the N Seoul Tower. The paths were nice and clean and it was a nice walk through the trees. It was quite steep. We started from the Public Library entrance and it took about 30 minutes to climb up. There were quite a few rest spots and paths that seemed to lead to other areas of the park. Really nice walk up although it was a tad tiring.
