We visited this water park as a family of four – two adults and two children (ages 6 and 10) – and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We paid €119 in total, which included tickets for two adults (€30.95 each) and two children (€24.95 each). For that price, the experience simply didn’t deliver.
There are other water parks in the same price range that offer far more attractions, better entertainment (like dolphin shows, artificial dinosaurs, or interactive zones), and a more family-oriented experience. This one felt basic and not worth the cost.
One of the biggest issues was the limited access for younger children. Our 6-year-old was only allowed on a few slides, yet his ticket cost only €5 less than an adult’s. That hardly seems fair – a child who can use maybe 20–30% of the attractions shouldn’t be paying almost full price.
Another unfair aspect is the lack of a discounted ticket for adults who are only accompanying their children. I personally don’t enjoy water slides and didn’t use any during our visit, yet I had to pay the full adult price. It would make much more sense to offer a lower-priced “accompanying adult” option.
The wave pool was also disappointing. It only runs for 10 minutes every two hours, and there’s no posted schedule anywhere, so you don’t know when to expect it. We stood waiting for a long time with our kids, thinking it would start soon, only to find out by asking staff that the waves weren't scheduled for another hour. This should be clearly communicated.
The splash zone with water fountains for younger children is also only open for two hours a day – from 12:00 to 14:00 – which is very limited, especially considering how few attractions are suitable for younger kids.
On top of that, many slides require inflatable tubes or rafts, but the park doesn’t provide nearly enough. We had to wait in long lines just to get one, which slowed everything down and caused more frustration than fun.
One specific slide, shaped like a snake, had a particularly poorly thought-out system. Only one person is allowed to start climbing the stairs after the previous person has completed the entire ride. This creates huge delays, with everyone standing around waiting not just for the slide itself, but also for each person to climb up and then go down one at a time. Very inefficient.
There’s also a locker system that we found inconvenient. You have to pay €7 extra for a small locker, which isn’t included in the ticket price. The lockers work with a six-digit code that you have to remember throughout the day. While it’s not extremely difficult, it does add unnecessary mental pressure, especially when you’re managing kids and trying to relax.
Overall, our visit left us frustrated and disappointed. The pricing is not family-friendly, the organization is poor, and the lack of communication and planning really took away from what should have been a fun day. We would not return or recommend this park unless major improvements are made – both in terms of value and...
Read moreThis waterpark has fast and thrilling waterslides that are very fun to ride, but the park is let down by some of the dumb lifeguards and greedy wave pool worker. The lifeguards at the top of the slides are the dumb ones I'm referring too. They really make everything so slow by sending sliders down even with spare spaces for more people which are just left unattended. They take ages sending people down. Also I'd highly recommend fast track for €15 per person as there are non-existent fast track queues and queues normally take ages for non fast track sliders thanks to the lifeguards atop of the slides. Also the queueing system to enter the park is divided into 2 queues, the ticket bookers and the ticket payers on the day and basically everyone books tickets so I'd highly recommend not bookng tickets in advance. Now for the wave pool, at 13:00 the wave pool was set to run and also as shown by a clock above the wave pool back wall that shows when the waves will release. There was then an announcement saying that there was a technical issue but it was fixed so instead of just delaying it until about 14:00, they delayed it until 16:00. So anyway, we all get in at 16:00 and then the wave pool operator moves the clock forward an hour saying that the waves will now release at 17:00 and same thing happens at 17:00, it's delayed until 18:00 and bear in mind the park shuts at 18:00. Oh and non of this was explained as an announcement as done previously 1 time, it's all a scandal so you stay longer and spend more money on drinks, snacks, etc. There are also frequent closures of all waterslides that can last up to 30 mins like it did today. (Also when I mention waterslides I also refer to the orange and white U shaped rubber ring thing even though it's not technically a waterslide) The park gets a 2 star not 1 because the slides are still very fun, the food is actually delicious and the lifeguards are very helpful with non-swimmers that may sink at the bottom of slides. Forgot to mention, the lifeguards said I cannot wear a shirt despite there being half of the park wearing them? I needed to wear it as I have very bad sunburn. I was denied to wear it by all approaching lifeguards. Swimming Goggles are permitted on all slides expect the orange and white U shaped rubber ring thing which Isn't too bad.
Extra info: Queues: roughly 40 mins - 1 hour depending on the slides
I'd recommend not storing sliders / swimming shoes at the wave pool as...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at Hydro Park that I feel compelled to share. While we entered the park quickly and found some empty sun loungers, we were surprised to discover that they cost €5 for the day. When you factor that in with the admission price, a family of four is looking at a total of €120 right off the bat.
The real frustration began when we queued for one of the six main slides. The waiting times were excessive, and the fast pass system only exacerbated the situation. It felt unfair to see people cutting in line simply because they were willing to pay an additional €15 per person. This system seems to prioritize profit over the visitor experience, leaving many guests feeling frustrated and undervalued. I read other reviews online, hoping to find some reassurance, but many echoed my sentiments, stating that the fast pass system does not enhance the experience but rather adds to the overall frustration.
The staff, labeled as "lifeguards," did not inspire confidence. They seemed more focused on rushing guests out of the water than ensuring safety. I noticed that even after exiting a slide, I was quickly whistled at to clear the area, which only contributed to the long wait times for everyone as the next person had to wait for me exiting the water. The lifeguards appeared to lack the necessary management skills, which made the situation feel chaotic and stressful.
On a positive note, the food pricing was reasonable, but that still added another €50 to our total, bringing our day’s expenses plus a few drinks to around €245, especially since the only outside food allowed is bottled water. Additionally, while enjoying family time in the wave pool, we were approached by photographers eager to take our picture for an extra €10, which felt intrusive.
Overall, Hydro Park gave the impression of being more focused on extracting money from visitors rather than providing a pleasant day out. If you have young children under six, the kids' slides are a decent option without long waits or a fast pass system, which was a small relief. Thankfully, there was no parking fee (yet) for our visit.
I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements for future guests. An also adding a few more new additions to the park as the area seems to be outdated and lacking some thrilling slides.
Ow and wear slippers because the floor is scorching hot 🔥far from ideal for kids
I would never come here again...
