We stayed at this hotel during a recent festival visit to Barcelona, and unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. If the hotel does not want to accommodate festival-goers, it might be more appropriate to close bookings during such periods rather than penalize guests for simply being present. The hotel appeared to be oversold, and despite the 30°C heat, guests were being told to leave the pool area due to “too many people.” At one point, staff informed us that only 5 people were allowed in the pool, yet a large group of 15 guests were in it without issue. Later, when they left and other guests entered, we were abruptly told to leave again. One staff member in particular, Randa, was extremely rude — shouting at guests and insisting we return to our rooms, as if we weren’t allowed to enjoy the facilities we paid for. We were also told that our rooms were “only to be used for sleeping,” and that TVs should not be on due to noise. This was baffling, as the TV volume only goes up to 20, and we were simply watching the news. When we asked Sergio at the pool bar to open a parasol for shade, he told us he didn’t know how to do it — quite odd for someone working in a poolside role. Food at the hotel was overpriced and very limited in availability. When we resorted to ordering a takeaway (with the help of a staff member who assisted with the Spanish app), we were then told we couldn’t eat it at the pool — only chips were allowed. This made little sense, especially since we had seen other guests eating McDonald’s at the pool earlier, directly in view of staff without issue. I have attached a photo of the staff who was very rude and said she would call the police if we didn’t go back to our rooms at 5pm on a 30* day. Unbelievable

Premium room review - I'm the type of person that still preferes hotel rooms instead of AirBnb, but rooms like these make my decision hard sometimes.. Negative notes: - no mirror anywhere in the room except for bathroom mirror - there's a blue light in the room highlighting a step which is so bright that lights up the whole room when you're trying to sleep, if you're like me and love total darkness, forget it. Oh and there's no way of turning it off. - shower "curtain" only covers half of the bathtub, leaving a big part of floor all wet after every shower. - AC doesn't have a timer option - one of the nights we came at 3am and the door was closed and we had to wait in the cold without any clue on what to do and how long we would've to wait. - outside swimming pool on rooftop is not heated so couldn't use in February Positives: - decent location, as it only took us about 10 minute Walk to the metro station and its walking distance from Park Guel (about 20 min or so) - always clean and with a fresh smell - staff were very friendly - room is super spacious - there's a small balcony in the room - breakfast was decent for a hotel - water pressure/temperature was spot on I wouldn't say I'd recommend the room because it was premium but i didn't feel the worth. But the hotel i would recommend, maybe a cheaper room would've given you decent value for money.

We received a room that did not look like the pictures from their website. We asked for a "double room with a terrace" which is something like a "intermediate" accommodation, not luxurious but not the cheapest either. We were expecting a big place with view over the terrace (like the photos showed). Instead we were placed in a singles room that had a double bed placed against the wall, having only one nightstand. I'll attach some photos. We did not have the energy to fight this choice, since we were very tired from our travel, but next time I'll know to refuse the room if it's nothing like the photos. Moreover, you can hear everything through the walls, especially noise coming from the hallway and the rooms next to us. In the mornings, there was no chance of sleeping in! Also, be careful that the price in the reservation is not final. Upon check-in, you are asked to pay a city tax (5%). It's not much, but they should've specified in the reservation the total price to pay. All in all, we paid 420€ for 4 nights. I understand that Barcelona is an expensive city, but you would expect great rooms for such a spicy price. I gave it 2 stars because the room service was pleasant and the room was kept clean each day.

Very dated hotel and rooms not like the photographs on the jet2 website where I booked the break. They say they are 4 star but it's more 3. They charge you 2 lots of city tax one to Barcelona and one to Catalonia and that's each! Cos us 39 euro for 4 nights. Jet2 said it was 4euro per day but was shocked when it was that high. Rooms stuck in the 90's and very noisy. Single glazed windows don't help. Bathroom was tiny nowhere to put your stuff. The walls are paper thin but was very clean. |Our first night the people I the room next to us we could hear their conversation, banging the wardrobe doors, putting the TV. Finally we must have fallen to sleep and then the bin men came at 4am am and that woke us up, followed by motor bikes, people shouting in the street, putting their rubbish in the bin, dogs barking, then the people above us decide to tap dance. We had to get up at 3 am to get to the airport that day so we were super tired . The following day walking round Barcelona like zombies. We thought the bins were emptied now so the next night would be better but no, woken up by the bin men at 4am again. So we asked for a room change . The lady was very understanding. Take it this happens regularly as another couple were asking to move because of the noise. Came back and our room was changed. They took our bags to our new room too which was a nice touch. When we got there it was on the road side just a floor up and I'd asked for one at the back of the hotel away from the street. This room was worse there was a shower curtain and a window in the bathroom with pipework banging behind it . To get out the shower you would have to squeeze past the bday. So I asked to change again. The rooms we had were both twin and we asked for a double.| Rooms 323 and 423 were what they gave us both road side. Refuse if given!!|So the manager said I could check the next room before I went in. She gave us 509 which was spacious , view of the basilica, quiet, over looked the buildings not the street which was good. The bathroom was much bigger. We slept like babies the first night. Then a couple went in the room next door for the last night and could hear their conversation till gone midnight and then was woken up by banging. We think it was someone sorting the tiny pool on the 6th floor above us as the noise was every 8 seconds. Yeah, we laid there listening to the bangs. Feel ripped off to be fair. We saw loads of gorgeous 4 star hotels in Barcelona. I suggest finding one of those and pay a bit more. The hotel is out of the main parts which we wanted so that we could sleep on a night. Which wasn't the case. Near the Lessops station at the bottom of the hill. We used the metro several times a day. Never had a breakfast there but looked through the window one day it was like a cattle market. At 15€ a person find a nice cafe to eat not there that's what we did for a couple of euros. We got off the metro at the Vallcarca so there was a cafe called panni at the top of the hill. Went in there and it was lovely plus, you walk down hill to the hotel from there,...

EDIT because whoever answered my review wants to do some damage control and somehow make us the bad guys: Our tone was fine. we were friendly. we got upset once the reception told us NO ROOM and NO REFUND and we argued for like half an hour we were asking to get a refund and he says no we dont do refund. SO DO NOT LIE ABOUT THAT. please don't lie! YOU 100% DENY REFUNDS. It's the entire reason im writing this review. If you said "sure the room you booked isn't available, here's your refund" i would give you a better review for customer service.

And you are NOT sorry this happened to us, if you were sorry you would not let us sleep in the car in a rest stop.

Also since we're doing this, DO NOT OFFER ROOMS YOU CANNOT GUARANTEE. you are doing this as a way to trick people into your hotel, and have a wild card "we do not guarantee your room" AFTER we book it (before or after doesn't matter, you should not be doing this in the first place) You don't have the room I want, don't offer it. it's easy as that. that's why you have 3.6 rating, if you actually cared and offered better service you would have more HAPPY guests. 👋

Rented a room with explicitly 2 SEPARATE BEDS. because we're 2 male friends traveling. We get there, the gentleman at the reception gave us keys, we pay the leftover, and we go up. We find a room with one bed. We go ask them hey you made a mistake with the beds. He says nop, not a mistake. When you book a room, the bed configuration is just a "preference". lol why would i book 2 beds if Im traveling with my gf. I book 2 beds, because I did not want to sleep with the other person in the same bed. Why are you even offering 2 beds if you cant do it 🤯

anyway, we spend half an hour arguing. They dont want to give us the room we booked, and they dont want to refund us.

when we say "ok what now are we gonna sleep in the streets?" the guy literally said "🤷‍♂️ ok sleep in the street".

both parties got defensive, but we are the ones just asking for what we paid for. i understand the guy was just doing his job. but the whole hotel policy of no refund even if we dont give what you paid for should be illegal but somehow it's not.

the experience was insanely disrespectful. police got called. later we called booking.com, and got a refund after 6 months.

anyway. highly NOT recommended. the narrow street leading up to it does not accommodate more than 1 car. and it's UPHILL! and you have to park your car far from the hotel.

LOCATION: 👎 SERVICE: 👎 ROOMS: 👎

their take is: we dont care about your booking, take the room WE want to give you, or gtfo,...

On arrival, we were charged ‘tourist tax’ which was around £80 for our week stay. Then we asked how to access the swimming pool and they said it’s closed for the next few weeks due to construction on the property. This ruined our entire trip, as the whole reason we booked this hotel was the first 4 pictures are literally of the swimming pool balcony. All they did was apologise and offered to add free breakfast to our stay which was of no use to us anyway because we didn’t add it in the first place as we wanted to eat out for every meal. Also, every morning there was drilling and hammering noises waking us up at 8am and builders shouting in the hallway. Neither the construction or swimming pool closure was mentioned anywhere before or after we booked our stay. They could’ve at-least made us aware, and really there should’ve been something on the jet2 page for this hotel that there’s current construction works and the swimming pool should definitely not be the first 4 pictures if it’s closed. The staff were lovely though don’t get me wrong, they helped us with directions and gave us ideas of things to do around Barcelona, but unfortunately the power of compensation was not something they were authorised for. We understand that it was the January month and most people wouldn’t want to swim in a cold pool anyway but we were planning to use it as a ‘cold plunge’ after we used the hotel gym. Also this just reminded me about how awful the shower was. The shower head was clogged up making water spit out at a ridiculous pressure in random directions and there isn’t a shower curtain of some sort so every time you shower the water has to go all over the floor and there’s no way around it. They say there is a ‘mini-bar’ in the room, but really it’s a tiny fridge that only had 2 bottles of water in it with nothing else, and we asked if we can have the water refilled every day but they said this was only for the first day, so what’s the point of calling it a mini-bar? The sheets sometimes had hair or blood stains on them, even though they did smell washed and were changed every day. Overall, rubbish hotel experience but did the job as we only came back to sleep. A 50% reimbursement would’ve been nice, especially considering we payed a stupid...
