Its not only about the Castle. Its about the whole little town of Begur and its surroundings! A beautiful finding in the area. With a lovely history, you just need to stroll on its little streets, full of colour and joy and nice people, discover amazing buildings and magnificent spots. Then take the way up to the castle with its beautiful view on the sea. You'll have a good outside parking just at the base of the town coming from Sa Riera (Font de Baix), or an inside parking in the centre of the town (Onze de Setembre), with acceptable prices both. We loved the Havana Restaurant (on the street that leeds to the castle) and the nice El Tapas de Begur just near the Church in Placa de la Villa. On the main street (Cami del Mar) you'll also have a Tourist Office if you want to know more about the town and its surroundings (it is closed between 2 and 4 pm though :( too bad in the summer I would say). Read moreThe real draw here is the town of Begur, a charming coastal town on top of a bluff filled with little restaurants and hotels. And, occasional, a weekday dance party that goes into the night playing terrible music but it sounded like they were having fun. The castle itself overlooks the town. There’s not much left of it, once you get up there, but the view is spectacular. And it’s not a difficult walk. I’m looking at it right now....
