A great city beach in Cadiz. The Beach is wide, has white sand and you can find many cool sea-shells. On playa de santa Maria in Cadiz, you can find a restaurant, showers and toilets. A nice beach for both young and old people. Water is clear, gets deep after about 50 meters, and feels safe for swimming, but there can be big waves. A beach guard tower with staff are overlooking the beach. Dogs are not allowed, but there is a smaller beach next to Santa Maria where dogs are allowed. Very clean beach where you can swim or hang out. The sand is smooth for the most part and made of shells and coral. It was EXTREMELY crowded when I went at 5pm on a Wednesday afternoon in July. Plenty of families and adults all relaxing and having a good time. There was a mix of topless women tanning among all the people but that’s pretty common and not a big deal culturally here, just thought I would mention. I was surprised by how clean the beach was considering the number of people and that Cadiz is a port city. Stayed in Sevilla. I really wanted to be near a beach and Malaga was a bit too far for us so I took the train for an hour to get here and it did not disappoint.
