This area was designed over the old garden of the Clarisas Convent. The extension was conceived in the last third of the 19th century as a nursery for the Botanical Garden in Puerto de la Cruz, although most of the species planted here have remained. The extension is a haven of peace, which is unusual in La Orotava's historical centre. It houses a unique compendium of plant species, thanks to its special conditions that make it conducive to acclimatisation. Most of the plants are of tropical origin, both African and American. It’s also home to some really unusual plants for these latitudes such as the Roxburgh fig of the Himalayas. You’ll also find one of the most impressive dragon-trees in La Orotava today. The extension is home to numerous birds, and a short walk through it will open your senses to a wealth of songs and plant and flower fragrances. Take a moment to enjoy and then head towards the town hall to discover its art collections.

A lovely, pretty little botanical garden next door to the victorian garden. Most of the plants are labelled and packed with colourful flowers, shrubs and trees. Their are some seats to rest on and the foot paths are mostly flat but beware of some trees roots in places. Their is a big fish pond at the top. Apparently most of the specimens came from cutting /seeds etc from the botanical gardens in Puerto de la Cruz. Entry is free and it is definitely worth a visit.

Csodálatos az Orotava polgármester hivatalának a fűvészkertje. Telis teli szebbnél szebb virágokkal, különleges fákkal és egy aranyos kis kerti tóval amiben rengeteg díszhal úszkál.😉 Bár mostanában elég gyakran zárva van, de érdemes megnézni, mert volt úgy nyitva, hogy az internet azt írta zárva van. Ingyenesen látogatható. Így érdemes körbenézni, ha már Orotaván járunk.😉🏝 Pár különleges virágról teszek fel fotót ami itt nő. Érdemes többször is visszalátogatni, mert mindig más virágzik. Ha hasznosnak találod az infot kövess it googlebe és fedezd fel velünk Tenerifét.😉🏝

Un jardín botánico pequeño, emplazado en un lugar estratégico en el centro del casco histórico de La Orotava, uno de los núcleos urbanos antiguos más bonitos de Canarias. El jardín está perfectamente cuidado cuenta más con una rica historia y una variedad grande de plantas debidamente etiquetadas. El equipo de jardinería del Ayuntamiento de La Orotava demuestra con el cuidado de este y otros jardines que aman su trabajo, y tienen los espacios verdes Muy mimados. Algo de agradecer. Un paseo imprescindible para cualquier visita a La Orotava.

Very nice park, many different plants including Dragon Tree and bannana palms, ideal place to sit down for a moment during La Orotava sightseeing and contemplate the nature :)
