I will not comment on the desserts as it is a matter of taste,but the service was a disappointment. The persons at the counter are really nice and helpful, but what happened next was bad. We stayed in the queue to get a table, when our turn came and there was a free table for 4 persons the waiter said that we should still wait as the first persons in the queue have the priority and started asking who are the first at the back of the queue 😅 others confirmed that we are the first and finally we got our table. Meanwhile we saw our desserts getting on the wrong table when we were still staying in the queue. After finishing our meal we wanted to pay,no one told us we should pay at the counter so we sat 20+ minutes because our waiter ignored us each time when passing our table and when we approached the bar the bartender just left when she saw us coming 😵‍💫 I know what means being patient but this was too much. Best dessert ever. Recommended to take the Dulce Delas Alfombras and the Almendra. 2 cakes that are very special and out of the ordinary. A very quiet place, we found it by luck. There is no advertisement of the confiteria outside, it looks like a regular old restaurant from the outside. BUT, as soon as you enter, your world changes from a mysterious one to a sugary one. A huge line of small cakes suddenly appear and your salivary glands begin to shoot to every place like a rabbid dog. Now you are in CAKE HEAVAN. Sit down, relax, order a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Call me later and thank me. Prices are completely worth it. We ordered a cup of tea, espresso and 2 pieces of cake. Cost 5.5 Euro. Un sitio emblemático de La Orotava desde siempre y que nunca defrauda.

Una dulcería y una casa de comidas de "toda la vida" que sigue manteniendo su esencia a través de los años.

Hemos celebrado el cumpleaños de mi padre ahí, y hemos salido muy contentos como siempre. Tanto para comer como para merendar o tomar un café a media mañana, este sitio nunca defrauda. Los dulces son buenísimos y en mi familia, un clásico de toda la vida: las milhojas, los tambores, los roscos de huevo.... Las trufas de chocolate en Navidad, los polvorones, el pan de Cádiz... La lista sería interminable. En definitiva una delicia para el paladar que merece la pena probar sin duda.

La comida muy buena también. Los calamares a la romana estaban exquisitos, muy buenas las croquetas, el queso blanco muy rico también. Mención aparte el rancho, otro clásico como el potaje de berros. Buenísimos ambos. El filo muy, muy, rico, otro plato "de toda la vida". Digno de resaltar el bacalao encebollado con papas arrugadas. Un deleite. También muy sabrosos los chocos a la plancha, el escalope de cerdo y la merluza empanada. No me quiero dejar nada pero todo lo que comimos estaba buenísimo.

La tarta de tambor también deliciosa. La personalizaron y le decoraron uno individual con sus velitas, me pareció un detalle estupendo.

En definitiva, un total acierto el de hoy para esta celebración familiar. Una visita obligada en La Orotava sin...
