Basílica de Santa María del Coro — Attraction in San Sebastián

This is a beautiful basilica, and even though there is a three euro entry fee it is worth the price for admission. It sits directly opposite the cathedral which you can see several kilometers in the distance. The church itself has a museum of religious artifacts dating from the medieval period up to contemporary pieces. There is a lift that will take you upstairs to a temporary exhibition space. There was a photographic exhibition showing when I was there. The church itself is richly appointed, and the architecture is superb. The carvings and alter pieces are beautiful and rich. Wow, de Koruko Andre Mariaren basilika in San Sebastian is echt een adembenemend bouwwerk! Als je op zoek bent naar een plek om je ogen uit te kijken en je zintuigen te prikkelen, dan is dit de plek om naartoe te gaan.

De basiliek is een fantastisch voorbeeld van neogotische architectuur en heeft een geweldige uitstraling met al zijn gotische bogen en uitgebreide decoraties. Het lijkt bijna alsof je teruggaat in de tijd wanneer je de gevel van de basiliek ziet.

Maar het beste moet nog komen, want wanneer je de basiliek binnengaat, word je getrakteerd op een magisch interieur. De hoge plafonds, de prachtige schilderijen aan de muren en de glas-in-loodramen zijn gewoonweg verbluffend. En dan is er nog het orgel boven het altaar dat je adembenemend zal laten voelen. Het is zo groot dat het je overweldigt!

Natuurlijk is de Koruko Andre Mariaren basilika niet alleen een prachtig bouwwerk, maar ook een belangrijke religieuze locatie voor de inwoners van San Sebastian. Het is een plek waar ze samenkomen om te bidden en te aanbidden, en het is echt een geweldige ervaring om deel uit te maken van deze gemeenschap en hun geloof te zien.

Dus als je San Sebastian bezoekt, mag je de Koruko Andre Mariaren basilika niet missen. Het is een onvergetelijke en inspirerende ervaring die je nog lang...

A stunning place, entrance cost 3€ but I think it's worth it. It includes a small exhibition, where you can find out a little bit about history of Christianity in San Sebastian (or see a statuette of San Sebastian himself, for that matter). There's also a small chapel, but the entrance wasn't allowed. It's definitely more crowded outside of the basilica but the inside provides a calm and needed escape from the city's...
