English speakers beware! This establishment is not for us. The pintxos are lovely, but the table service is poor to the extent of hostile.

I ordered the steak, and the menu did not specify that it came with anything, but it does come with fries. The waiter did not ask how I wanted my steak cook (I like medium-rare), and it arrived basically purple. After several ignored attempts to get the staff's attention, I was finally successful, and they rolled their eyes when I asked for it to be a little more cooked. It arrived chopped in half and barely browned. And, without any utensils, as they had taken mine with the plate. My companion had ordered a salad, and it never came, so idk if they didn't hear us or just didn't care. For the price, the wine you get is a very small pour.

Their attitude was surly to the point of hostility. Their food was okay, but portions were small and undercooked.

All that for a pretty steep ticket and indifferent staff.

This feels like a spot for locals. So English, Americans, Australians, and Canadians would do well...

We visited bare bare because ir was recommended by the receptionist of our hotel for good tapas. We were in San Sebastian during a big summer event, and that day was even more special because there was fireworks on the bay, but even so we didn't have to wait that long. However they gave us a table on a corridor with space for 2 adults to sit, and we had to accommodate there our stroller with a sleeping toddler and our Baby on our lap. We ordered tapas, we choose the numbers corresponding to the tapas we wanted and drinks. For the order they have us a paper and we should right there everything we wanted and bring it to the counter. Then the waiters brought us the food. The tapas were amazing, very tasty and a huge variety! Two waiters served us, one was ok but the other was exceptionally friendly. I would recommend bare bare to someone visiting San Sebastián, however, I would tell them to come early to get a more comfortable table. Specially young families with small...

Bare Bare Good! Jokes aside, had a wonderful meal here 😎 especially the head waiter Javi who was welcoming, friendly and attentive despite it being incredibly busy.

We had a few Pintxos spots saved for San Sebastian but ultimately decided on here as the place is quite bright and spacious, even though there are many tables close together. There are also tables further inside.

The counter is full of Pintxos behind a screen and you simply order what you want on the sheet of paper ✍🏻 This numbers system is very handy and they are QUICK!!

Overall the quality of the Pintxos was pretty decent, only one was quite oily. The standout ones for me were: the scallop shell with a generous filling and the Korean K-chicken 🇰🇷🍗 so yum!

Our meal came to just over €20 / person,...

Pintxo tasting...anything with anchovies is good, the morcilla with egg was visibly attractive but the taste wasn't there despite the onion puree on top. I love cachopo and make it at home, but this was horrible. I think the breadcrumbs are stale or maybe they used sunflower oil instead of olive oil for frying? The Tuna tartare was the standout - excellent. I could almost think it was bluefin. I don't usually get cheesecake since I don't think anybody can top mine...and I should have stuck to my policy - it was light...and flavorless. It's not hard...add some lemon juice..or a splash of rum or amontillado or eek .marsala...anything to make it a little bit brighter....
