Aralar — Restaurant in San Sebastián

A large spread of pinxos that looks nice on display, but honestly they were not as great as the reviews says. It is obvious that this place is catered for masstourism with its enormous menu, but lacking quality, and where you choose pinxos by filling out a paper. The service was very tired and non-attentive. Considering the many amazing pinxos places there are to try out in San Sebastian, this is not one of them for those who consider themselves foodies and who prioritize quality over quanity and enjoy...

So was haben wir noch nicht erlebt: da kommen wir in diese Bar und sind begeistert von den vielen verschiedenen sehr leckeren Pintxos. Dafür und die Bedienung ist eine 5 Sterne Bewertung sicherlich angemessen. Nur leider trübte dieses Vergnügen der überaus cholerische Chef(?) der den wirklich bemühten und sehr sympathischen Mitarbeiter vor allen Kollegen und den Gästen mehrmals runter machte und anschrie!!!! Der Grund war, dass ich dem MA einen 5 Euroschein gab und ihn bat mir 3 Euro wieder rauszugeben. Der MA musste den Schein vom Chef wechseln lassen, da nur er Zugang zur Kasse hat. Daraufhin wurde der MA ein 2. Mal von dem Chef abgekanzelt und lauthals angeschrien! Sowas kann man absolut nicht machen. Deshalb kann ich für diese Bar leider nur einen Stern vergeben. We've never experienced anything like it: we come to this bar and are delighted by the many different, very tasty pintxos. For this and the service, a 5-star rating is certainly appropriate. Unfortunately, this pleasure was spoiled by the extremely choleric boss(?) who repeatedly put down and shouted at the really hard-working and very friendly employee in front of all his colleagues and the guests!!!! The reason was that I gave the employee a 5 euro bill and asked him to give me 3 euros back. The employee had to have the bill changed by the boss, as only he has access to the till. The employee was then told off a second time by the boss and shouted at at the top of his voice! You absolutely cannot do something like that. That's why I can only give this...

This place is a great choice if you are just starting out in SS - the staff are super friendly and helpful (and speak more english than we deserved with our limited spanish!) the pinxos are delicious, but best of all the friendliness of the staff really stands out in a sea of many nondescript pinxos bars.
