SAN SEBASTIAN PINTXOS TOURS — Attraction in San Sebastián

We visited San Sebastián in April 2023 with another couple from the US. It was our third pintxos tour there since our first visit to the city in 2018. We were fortunate to meet Clara from San Sebastián Pintxos this time and spend an amazing 3+ hours with her on a rainy, cloudy afternoon. Clara is the real deal, having grown up in San Sebastián, Years of world travel have resulted in Clara developing a wonderful command of English with a blended and delightful Spanish/British accent. In her tour she includes some great stories of growing up Basque in a region where Francisco Franco outlawed the speaking or reading of the language. She shares many stories about her hometown, past and present, while escorting you through a handful of the finest pintxo bars San Sebastián has to offer. So if you like Spanish jamon, cheese, beef cheek, lamb, pork, pulpo, squid, olives, the local drink txakoli and more, you can find no one more entertaining and knowledgeable in this city than Clara and San Sebastián...

We had an amazing tour with our guide Gartxot. We were with another couple whom we got to know during the evening and we all had fun trying out all the Pintxos that Gartxot recommended. He had reserved tables in advance at all the best bars and so it was a relaxing experience not having to push our way to the front to order. The guide was very knowledgeable about local history and customs and as he was born in the region had many interesting stories to tell and was just such a friendly and helpful guide. We loved all the food and especially the local white wine, and left late that evening surprisingly full and very satisfied with our experience with this tour company. Booked a last minute pintxos tour with this company and I am so glad I did! Could not recommend more - just ask for Clara as your guide!! Clara was a excellent guide - Friendly, informative, attentive to all the groups needs and an interesting person to chat to! The tour itself was more than I expected, originally I hesitated as it seemed expensive but we had plenty of absolutely delicious pintxos (so many I lost count) and lots of wonderful local wines. I was so full by the end! Clara took us to some wonderful places that were clearly frequented by locals and not just tourists/tour groups. Our group had such a fun time we didn’t end up leaving the last location...
