The building has amazing architecture which got my stars. Bravo to the architect. Some great photo opportunities to be had on the grounds. The photography exhibition was just all wrong!! I didn't quite get the music theme behind it all, obviously it's a local university art student or someone with no experience whatsoever curating this. I personally wouldn't like to have my work presented like this to the public. Lighting, wall color etc.. it's all just totally wrong.. Such a shame!! They should have whoever is in charge of presenting this work, go somewhere like Berlin's photography museum or NYC and see how they have it done. Trying to seek some outside guidance would be a start. At least I didn't have to pay. It would have been a bummer if I had to. They have a public library that is completely full of time wasters, they should really have the librarian assign each person a seat and implement a limited time to stay for each person. The cafe has obnoxious staff. As soon as you sit, they are trying to have you leave by collecting your half empty plates. I think they are trying to integrate a Michelin 5 star restaurant into a coffee shop of some sort?? What's up with the tables set for a 3 course meal... I take it's a lack of experience with modernism. Makes no sense.. They have a separate Library that is dedicated to photography, which was cool to see. But it has no work in there collection of anybody I recognized. I asked the librarian if they had any of Fan Ho's work in their collection, they didn't hold any of his work and by shock, they didn't know who he even was. That alone shows me the level of expertise they have in the photography industry working here. For such a beautiful building, the visit was nothing special. They should really call in the professionals to show them how to do all of this. It really could be a main attraction for the city, if they just got the right people in...
Read moreI visited TEA during my last vacation in Tenerife on a Sunday before 8 pm. There was no waiting time to enter. I wanted to attend some artistic exhibitions. First the building is huge and impressive. It is sharing the place with an immense library where everybody can rent book, work in silence or read. The access to the space was free. The receptionist explained me it was decided this way right after Covid. The exhibitions were great, installations were having enough space around to breath to provide feelings and have an impact. Everything was translated in English, perfect for tourists. I really recommend to go there and...
