Had this place recommended to me by friends and several guide books / articles on the island. My experience did not live up to the hype in the slightest. Having now tried several other restaurants on the island, I’m convinced the place must pay for articles to recommend them. The food was fine - nothing wrong with us but pretty basic and bland.
Particularly disappointing was the service. My partner and I speak very little Spanish but we tried our best to order in Spanish. The waiter was extremely rude. Ignored us several times, deliberately looked away as we ordered, and it felt like he made a deliberate effort not to understand any of our questions just to not have to answer us. Shame on you for treating paying clients like this, if you read my review you should consider a new profession handing out parking tickets as that will more closely match the attitude you gave us. The general restaurant staff was not nice either. We showed us 10 minutes early for our reservation and they refused to seat us (more than half of restaurant was empty still) and when we came back at the time of our booking they made a fuss that our table was not ready so we should come back again in 15 minutes this time. When we did, they sat us at a table that had been empty since we first stopped by 25 mins...
Read moreYou're seated. You've ordered drinks. You're committed. Then two things alert you to the possibility that this restaurant might not live up to the expectations you got from other reviews. First, your ears tune into conversations around you and you realise that there are no Spaniards dining here, unlike other adjacent restaurants. Second, an amuse-bouche arrives; not amusing, a quarter the size of one in a Michelin starred restaurant with a tenth of the imagination put into it. Why mention Michelin? Well, I imagine that's what they're aspiring to, as the food is pretentious to say the least. Ceviche was too acidic, probably marinated too long. We actually went because we wanted rice (think paella style) - their signature dish with meat does indeed have rice and come in a paella pan, albeit in the thinnest layer ever created. Whether it's the parmesan (admitted to) or the addition of an Oxo cube (or equivalent), it's far too salty though still edible. You can still have a reasonable meal here, and I saw others doing so, but I am giving two stars frankly just to pull down their rating and make others aware that they're buying into pretentiousness. Oh, and the service is offhand, they'll never get a Michelin star unless they do...
Read moreThe best ever restaurant I have known in Tenerife even in Canary archipelagos. Every single taste of foods here are very very delicious even I couldn’t resist to eat more and more. Luckily the first time I visited this modern, clean and great ambience and atmosphere yesterday afternoon after somebody recommended us having gastronomy experience and to know the friendly chef and warmly owner welcomed us. They have suggested us to try salmorejo (honestly I’d love it so much. Soft and creamy), after that tried burata with truffles on top. Recommended! Then thin fried beef covered by panko with cheese (thought permesano) and truffle on top too. Yes, this week is truffle week on foods mostly. As entree the chef presented for us the chevice of tomato and red onion of course truffle on top. All sublime and excellent presentations. Gonna be back of course. Thank you so much for accepting...
