No matter when I passed by this place in the morning—weekday or weekend—the line of people waiting for their churros was always impressive. Naturally, I got curious. I decided to come a bit later in the day. There was no line, but only one empty table left. What surprised me the most was how genuinely happy they were to have me there. They gave me space and time to take pictures of the walls, which were covered in posters that caught my attention. They even took a moment to tell me about the different types of churros. My order was ready in just two minutes. And when I realized I couldn’t finish everything and decided to take the rest to go, the woman at the counter insisted—almost convinced me—that I had to take the chocolate too. After all, how could I eat churros without chocolate? She carefully packed everything so that nothing would spill. It’s been almost a week, and I still think about this place with a smile.
I don’t know exactly how long this churrería has been around, but I read somewhere that it has been in business for eight generations. That alone is impressive. The place itself is simple—plastic tables and chairs, nothing fancy. The posters on the walls definitely catch your eye. But the real magic here? It’s the people.
Churros, served with different types of sauces. They were crispy, slightly salty, and not greasy at all—just the way they should be. And the chocolate? More like a rich hot chocolate drink—sweet but not overly intense. Maybe it would be even better...

They have a bit odd open hours and the place is very small but it felt very traditional and spanish which I prefer. The service was very good and the menu, even though short, was quite easy to understand.
I made the mistake of ordering a plate of 4 large churros with chocolate. They were HUGE! After 3,5 I almost felt like they were gonna come back up and say hi.
The locals seemed to look a bit funny at me as I was sitting there with that overfilled plate and I can't blame them for that, hahaha.
It was a little expensive but the menu I ordered was probably meant for 2-3 persons so I can't complain. If you come to Santa Cruz and like churros then I really recommend you to...
Read moreDo not buy anything from here. Me and my wife went here and ordered churros and chocolate. We were both charged, given just a cup of chocolate and then the owner started closing up so we had to leave. The churros we ordered were nowhere to be seen. My wife then had a stomach upset following what little chocolate we had a chance to eat.
The owner wouldn't even look at us when we left. The man is a con artist, avoid...
