LIFE-THREATENING! More than 12 persons have died here and so many more got seriously injured! Take the warning signs seriously! Local police keeps closing the pool, but irresponsible people keep opening it. Last weekend I witnessed my father being pushed out of the pool by a sudden rush of big waves. He was washed out into the ocean (falling down meters onto the rocks), where he was smashed by waves from rock to rock for more than 15 minutes. Dozens of people witnessed the incident but were unable to help since the cliffs are too steep to climb down and the waves too strong. I will never forget the helplessness of seeing the head of my father being smashed from rock to rock by huge waves for what felt like eternity. It was a mere miracle that he did not die and in the end could be rescued by two brave men (who risked their own life) and a helicopter rescue team. The good average evaluation on Google is misleading (they are from tourists who don't know more than yourself about the place). But if you read all the comments, you'll see how many people have already warned about this place and witnessed people dying: Only one week ago a teenage girl was flushed out into the ocean. The majority of local people don't enter the pool, because they know that people are dying here every year. Especially in winter and spring the ocean can be completely calm and out of a sudden a rush of big waves appears. We've been to be pool various times before and everything was cool and fun. This Sunday it was likewise with calm water in the pool, blue sky and no wind. Then, out of a sudden and unnoticable from the pool, a row of huge waves appeared which smashed me back and forth within the pool. I was pulled underwater, smashed against walls and did not manage to get out of the pool, until people pulled me out from above. Although my father is much stronger than me, he was pushed out into the ocean. The rescue team said that my father was given a second life that day and we thank heaven and the brave and selfless helpers. Please spill the word to prevent more people from loosing their life...

No lifeguard, no lifesaving ring, no warning about high tide/waves are fierce etc.
We went while staying near by. Taking it in turns to watch the older children. My nephew is a teenager and a good swimmer, but he went towards the rocks to be safe as the waves had been scary high. I thought this may in itself be unsafe if he got thrown with a wave onto the rocks he was on, I went to tell him and suddenly a wave came. I grabbed him but couldn’t keep hold and I went summersaulting through the waves, I’m covered in cuts and bruises but lucky as I could easily have lost my life. My nephew had I not grabbed him would have gone over the side of the wall into the ocean. The waves are deceptively calm and then suddenly huge. We got back to the hotel to find many die there each year. I surfaced when the waves stopped, I don’t remember it as I think I was in shock but my partner and sister came to get us and I don’t remember them doing it apparently I just sat on a rock still and shaking with blood on me. My nephew was similar, we both had awful dreams that night.
It’s a busy place and even locals don’t seem concerned by the waves until they need to be.
There were many young children there too with other tourists thinking it was seemingly safe.
The wave that got me and my nephew got quite a few others my partner told me after that people just froze they didn’t know who to help first as a fair few got injured. Turns out it was closed for 6 months in 2022 for the amount of deaths but they made no attempt to make it safe before opening again. They need to raise the...

We visited this natural pool earlier this year in January. We feel obliged to write a review after seeing so many positive reviews since we know how dangerous it is. We arrived and saw many swimming in the pool with calm waves in the sea. After watching for 30 minutes we decided to swim ourselves.
After 5 minutes and totally out of the blue, a huge wave came over the side, engulfing the pool and everyone in it. This sucked most of the swimmers overboard and out to sea. Due to these strong currents, it was very hard to get out the 'pool'. One of us was repeatedly bashed into the sharp rocks when trying to get to safety. The other (myself) nearly drowned after a second wave kept me underwater for what felt like forever. I was lucky not to go overboard and managed to get out eventually.
The people who went over board were struggling to fight the current and get out of the sea due to the steep rocks below the pool. The people that did manage it were covered head to toe with cuts and bruises with one woman bleeding from the head and suffering concussion.
The air ambulance arrived and cordened off the area whilst trying to rescue the people still in the sea. When we were leaving we heard that one person was still missing..
Locals later informed us that many people drown there every year from being swept out... Do not be enticed in, the antlantic ocean is powerful and...
