Centro Deportivo Fariones — Attraction in Tías

Really disappointed in Fariones today. Decided to spend a few hours there this morning with my husband (both residents in Lanzarote) we had a very rare few hours together so we said let's go for a swim & relax by the pool. When we arrived we told the receptionist we will only be here a couple of hours as we have to pick our children up, but she explained we still had to pay the full daily rate which was 24€ for us both, we were like, fair enough at least we can have a good swim and relax. When going through to the pool we noticed every lane was full of professional teams training, we just presumed they would be finished soon, so we got a sunbed and sat back and waited for a lane to become free. After an hour the pool was still full with more teams arriving. I went to ask receptionist when we would be able to use the pool, baring in mind we didn't have much time, she says you can use it now! I explained it was full with either swimming lessons or professional teams training! She said we can still go in - i didn't know exactly where she expected us to go in as we are no professional swimmers and I'm sure they wouldn't have appreciated us just jumping in and slowing them all down, plus they were all in sink, & it looked like quite an intense training session. So we sat a bit longer waiting for a lane, still not became available, we both decided we were wasting our morning & money, so we went back to reception, spoke to the receptionist who was very rude and said this is a sports centre you have to expect it to be busy! Now when we 1st arrived when we said we only had a couple of hours, if she would have explained to us then that the pool was full, we would have gone somewhere else, she basically said tough, thats the way it is and that's the price! So we paid 24€ for nothing, we never even got to swim! We will never use there facilities again, and will never join any of our children to...

Gym is still very good.The poolside caf has really gone downhill. Staff are rude, and service was extremely slow. Ordered food and took 40 mins to receive. Then when told to wait at table for ordering,it took 20 mins to get somebody to take our order. This used to be brilliant but has lost the service. More focused on prioritising friends than general customers. People visibly frustrated. We actually witnessed the two male staff members joking with friend whilst a woman cleaned down the table for her children. The staff actually handed the cleaning...

Ok Gym that we could use during our stay at Hotel Fariones. Before we went we were learned that we could only train with masks. Fine with us !! Only using cardio equipment it was allowed to take off the masks.

Unfortunately at the gym NOONE used a mask when walking around or using the regular weight machines. The gym is rather small and it was not possible to social distance.
