We went to the Dali Cibernetico exhibition at Bombas Gens, Centre d’Arts Digitals just 15 minutes walk over the Turia from El Carme today and it was nothing short of fabulous! Billed as an “immersive trip inside the geniuses mind” and being longtime fans of Salvador Dali made this a wonderful choice for a daytime date on a cloudy/rainy day in Valencia. The 360° hall was such a surreal place to be, the way Dali’s art was presented, woven into current technology, was unlike anything I’d experienced before and I could have easily spent all day relaxing there. We joked that it was as close as we’ll ever be to having a trip under the influence of psychedelic drugs! We learned so many fascinating things about Dali and how advanced and novel his brilliant mind was. Then there was the VR Hall - and wow is all I can say! It was a mind blowing experience and one that we’ll remember as being incredibly unique (we’re in our 50s and witnessed the birth of Pong so there’s that, lol) This VR is way different to the early versions of VR golf and other poor quality, jaggy games - trust me, the admission price is worth it just for the VR. The location is great, on the site of an old renovated factory, the employees kind and helpful and there are plenty of bars/cafes nearby. Insider tip, tickets at the time of this review are half price all day on Mondays, 2-1, can’t beat it! If you get the chance, go and quickly as the Dali exhibition closes on June 27th...

The reasons for my conclusion are the following: the themes of Dali’s artwork, AI and atomic physics are explored in detail in the first room of the museum, yet no English commentary/text is given! When a place has so much text in Spanish and Catalan and not a single line in English it feels discouraging to be there.
The place definitely has some great selling points. The 12-minute VR journey is fun and engaging experience to go through with friends and on your own. The railings around the room make the space safe and enjoyable for use.
Nevertheless, the AI part of the exhibition felt a little boring and something that would be interesting five years ago, with the development of chat GPT a lot of the material in the museum feels like it has already been seen before.
Lastly, the bits of documentary didn’t have the best audio quality, while the exhibition in general felt a bit cheesy and pompous.
For more works of Dali I would instead recommend the Fine...
Read moreI have come to Spain for mobility and the company we are working in recommended different places to visit while being here. This place was one of them. It's my favourite now!!! Went I arrived I didn't wait any second. The staff knew English very well so everything was happening fast and steady. Those were the most wonderful 3D visualizations, creative rooms, old televisions and VR rooms I have ever seen and been to!❤️ I wish I had gone earlier in the day so I could have spend a lot more time in it!! Amazing experience, I...
