Very very peaceful place! I suggest getting the monthly pass for your vehicle. Pack a lunch ,chair, walking shoes, bug spray and enjoy everything around you!!! This is the perfect place where you can leave your phone behind and enjoy everything nature has to offer. Recharge your body and mind! The staff is very very friendly and so are the people. Running up the mountain is fun but is a challenge. Walking around the mountain is a challenge as well, But it’s well worth it. I suggest getting a map (at the front gate) and take on a new quest every time you visit. Biking is fun here as well! Very kid friendly! Plenty of restrooms available and they are always clean! The camp ground are clean as well… Once you get to the top, take a min and look around..(look at all the beautiful buildings and enjoy the skyline) Ohhh, let’s not forget the hotel. Very nice. Big giant chessboard and pieces. Clean swimming pools. Don’t wonna walk/can’t walk…. Take the bucket ride to the top of the mountain and enjoy the view.(You do have to pay for that)

I went to the Stone Mountain park on 2/14.22 to shoot pics of the grist mill there and was shocked that they charge $20 to get in for parking on a Monday when absolutely NOTHING is open. None of the stores, not the cable ride, nothing, even some of the rest rooms were locked I tried to enter. There were tall fences everywhere saying no trespassing so you could not enter most areas, maybe because of covid, plus they has a filming crew in a couple of locations with guards stopping you from entering those areas. I was able to get the pics I wanted, without a lots of people in them, but the parking fee was way to much for what was open that day. I'll never go back again, ever.

Nice to visit the old mill again. Very scenic area and well kept. At the top near the parking lot are pavilions, plenty of picnic tables, grilling spots, and restrooms. You can take the stone stairs, walkway, or nature trail down to the mill and enjoy the narrow stream, tiny waterfalls, small foot bridges, and a few benches while down there. A decent portion of the lake - and Goat Island - is still visible in spite of the mill being somewhat in a cove. Came here in the winter and was still able to get some good pictures despite the cold, wind, and a little rain. I plan to return in the summer for different plant life...and of course, better weather!
