Top of Europe is an amazing experience, a little bit expensive but understandable. To me, I think it’s once in a lifetime experience, I suggest you to go, but I wouldn’t go again, I think once is enough. In this adventure you will see the snow from the windows or you can go outside to play(I played the Tyrolienne), set, drink or take picture. Then, you will go to ice palace (you’ll have so much fun here). Anyway, I’m not going to write what they have up there, you can google it. I’m going to tell you my experience, and what I have been told (which what exactly what happen to me). 1- outside in the snow is warmer than the inside. somehow, I felt the sun is near to the point my eyes hurt me and I needed a sunglasses (which I saw most people have, they came prepared) When I see my pictures again, my eyes were closed in every picture 😂 so don’t forget yours. 2- Don’t make any plans after going up, whether in the same day or the day after. You’ll be so tired (I don’t know if it’s something about the air pressure or not) but believe me after it, you’ll sleep...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant day out with the best views!! We went in February and got very lucky with the weather but it was still extremely windy outside on the plateau. We took the Eiger Express route up, and the Kleinne Scheidegg back down and found this was perfect because you want to get to the top of the mountain as early as possible before all the crowds arrive and then on the way down you can enjoy the views a bit more. On the way up, the Jungfraubahn stops at Eismeer for a few minutes so you can get off and enjoy the views.
I would recommend booking a table at the Restaurant Crystal in advance as we weren't able to get a seat and whilst the food at the Aletsch self service was good, it wasn't quite the experience we had in mind as the queue was really long and we had to share a table with other people.
You can easily spend a whole day at Jungfraujoch including getting up and down the mountain and I definitely recommend coming here once...
Read moreThe views are spectacular and the ride up is interesting. The new Eiger Express gondola was the highlight. Unfortunately once you get there the fun stops. We went on a weekday and the place was completely overrun by large tourist groups filled with loud and rude members. It was so crowded that the experience was completely ruined. Every viewing platform was filled with obnoxious people whose only interest was getting a selfie rather than actually taking in the view. If you actually did enjoy the view for any length of time, a rude tourist would ask you to move so they could take a selfie.
The management needs to manage this situation far better. Particularly given the astronomical price of admission. We had a Jungfrau Travel Pass so we paid half fare. Without that it would have been $126pp just for the ride from Grindwald. More if coming in from further down the valley.
Consider the cost/benefit wisely...
