This place is a Swiss-style must for families: nice self-service MIGROS Restaurant, really friendly staff, nice indoor and outdoor playgrounds, gorgeous park, an English Cottage hosting a museum, a pond, donkey rides for children, a fountain where children can refresh and play in the summer...and much more. During the week I go there for my lunch break (I work next to it) and I love to sit outside in the terrace and relax a little before going back to office. During the weekend they offer a nice Brunch and various activities according to the season (summer: puppets theatre and tales for children, donkey rides, winter: Sami Klaus visits the Park on Dec. 6th, etc...). The offer breakfast every morning, food for lunch is really good and fresh, the Kinder Menu includes Apfel Shorley and Ice Cream for free. The car park is in front of it but you can easily reach the place by bus from Zürich Bürkliplatz (Bus N°165 from Zürich Bürkliplatz, direction Park im Gruene, 30 min ride). Last but not the least, the nicest (in my opinion) MIGROS Supermarket in the Canton is in front of it, so if you go there on a Saturday with your children, you can match their amusement with your shopping for the weekend. Really...
Read moreThis is a wonderful green oasis in the heart of the town. It offers sprawling lawns, beautiful gardens, and shaded walking paths. I particularly enjoy the variety of trees and plants, which create a serene atmosphere for relaxing or having a picnic. The park also has excellent amenities such as playgrounds for children, well-maintained benches.
However, I do have a concern about the lack of designated smoking areas. It’s a bit disappointing to see people smoking everywhere, which detracts from the otherwise peaceful environment. It would be great if the park authorities could set up specific corners for smokers, allowing everyone to enjoy the fresh air without the smell of smoke.
Overall, Park im Grüene is a great place to spend your day, but the smoking issue could use some attention. I hope the management considers creating designated smoking areas to keep the park clean and enjoyable for...
Read moreI've eaten here only 6 or 7 times. For Switzerland, this is a clean, reasonably priced buffet near a beautiful walking park (with play structures for small children (under 6). This is a great place for groups to gather (since there is something for everything). I don't think there is anything particularly remarkable about the food, i.e. just solid brats, chicken nuggets, some sort of warm dish, fries, a good salad bar. A note of caution: I have got severe food poisoning from a seafood casserole (probably dumb of me to order seafood in Switzerland), so I'm not sure if this was a one off or you need to be a little more careful of casseroles that have been left out for awhile. Suffice to say, I'll be sticking with the more bland, less...
