Osteria da Francesco — Restaurant in Thalwil

I brought a guest for dinner here. They said without reservations, they will seat us if we can leave in 1 h 20 min. We got a bottle of wine. My order arrived in decent time. My friend’s Pinsa arrived way too late, at least 30 minutes after we placed the order. On asking for a status multiple times, they finally said the order was burnt and they are making another. At that time, honestly, good service would be bring something in the meantime for your starving guest… on the house. That didn’t happen. They were busy with the larger tables. The dishes were excellent. Compliments to the chef, but not to the otherwise...

Absolutely delicious pinsa! I’m from Rome where pinsa is originally from and I wasn’t expecting much when my Swiss friend invited me to Thalwil in this place. From the second we stepped in they were super smiley and friendly, we chose to sit outside as the weather was nice and they were very fast with the service. We ordered two pinsas (Bufalina and Italia) and honestly I was impressed, I felt like I was home. Fresh ingredients, the dough was perfect and all together it was just delicious. Ich war jetzt schon mehrmals zum Lunch in der Osteria da Francesco – und jedes Mal absolut zufrieden. Für mich einer der wenigen Italiener, bei denen einfach alles passt: Das Essen, der Service und die Atmosphäre.

Die Mittagskarte ist abwechslungsreich, die Gerichte sind frisch, schön angerichtet und einfach richtig gut gemacht. Besonders die Pinsa hat’s mir angetan – luftig, knusprig und mit tollen Zutaten. Auch die Pasta ist jedes Mal top, auf den Punkt gekocht und geschmacklich genau mein Ding.

Dessert bestelle ich nie – nicht, weil’s schlecht wäre, sondern weil ich nach dem Hauptgang meistens satt und happy bin.

Der Service ist freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam – perfekt für die Mittagspause, wenn’s auch mal ein bisschen zügiger gehen soll. Trotzdem wirkt nichts gehetzt oder unpersönlich, im Gegenteil: Man fühlt sich jedes Mal willkommen.

Fazit: Wer in Thalwil eine richtig gute Adresse für den Lunch sucht – italienisch, authentisch und mit Herz – ist bei Francesco genau richtig. Ich komme...
