This is an unexpected gem hidden fees steps away from the main touristy paths of Thun. I knew about this place before coming to Thun, but didn't expect much: it's just an old panorama, what can be exciting about it? But there are things, which made the visit not just worthwhile, but a true highlight of our Thun short November trip. First, it is a truly amazing and elaborate piece of artwork, preserved in a great condition. It is not a huge museum or an exhibition of hundreds of pieces of art, but just the right size attraction with precisely calculated exposition for the best experience of visitors. It takes from 15 to 60 minutes to see the most of the panorama and learn near details about it, as well as to see the temporary exhibition. That is the perfect time frame for both visitors with kids or otherwise impatient group members, especially considering extra activities offered at the ground level of panorama. And there is a small Café at the reception desk, that offers a perfect selection of drinks and food for a short break (not only, but that was my only experience). I highly suggest coming here during "not-so-high" season to avoid crowds. The feel of this museum is completely different with and without other visitors around. We were lucky to enter an almost empty museum, so the first 15 minutes were immersive and unforgettable. Later there were other visitors with kids, which wasn't a bad by any mean, but a completely different feeling.

The painting building was under renovation when we visited. BUt the views near the park of the lake and the Alps were amazing. One of the most beautiful views ever!

Dieses grosse Rundbild ist sehr beeindruckend. Perspektivisch irre gut gemalt.
