I’ve stayed a month here on the 26th floor. Had an option of stay on 36th but felt sick just by thinking of it 😅 The view is amazing probably the best factor of this building. This building is mean to be high so no outdoor area except ground floor. This also is bad for smoker and lots of smokers just smoke in the room even it’s not allowed. Seems like they don’t enforce the non smoking. Corridors stink of smoke it feels like I was in a ktv building. I was staying in the lodging rooms which are run by outside agencies (there is a lot of them here). The actual sky tower hotel (the OG / fancier one) it’s closed atm, not sure if it’s temp or permanently closed. The interior design of the rooms very old feels like the same age of the building lol. But for the price I’m paying for the whole month 13k it’s very cheap / affordable, so the negative factors don’t mind me. Since it’s so high it’s and I need to change 2 elevators each time it’s kinda annoying but all good. It’s location it’s great. There is like 3 breakfast food trucks every morning outside the main entrance, that’s very convenient for me to grab a coffee some breaky and go for a bike ride to explore. 3-4 night markets in the 15 min cycling range. Very good ! The rooms are very spacious however wish there was things like microwave and etc. the toilet is fine, the only negative factor is the fact that the water goes cold in like 7 minutes after opening. It’s like a waster wastage control. Kinda sucks for this kind of building to have that. I need to stop the water while I shower if not I end up with cold water...
Read moreI have stayed here many times. It’s an old hotel but is well kept. Some of the rooms may have the Japan Style toilets. If that’s important to you. Just saying!! Other than that the bathrooms are well stocked with all you need. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacey. There is fresh fruit everyday in the room. Some things to mention if they matter to some people. If you are used to 48” TV’s or bigger you will be disappointed. The ones in all the rooms I have rented are quite small. The main restaurant in the 39th floor is huge!. I only had breakfast there. Breakfast are catered more to the local Taiwanese clients.I have never seen oatmeal there or honey. So I bring my own. Other than that they have a huge variety of food. They make omelettes, but I have never seen them cook any other style of eggs. The gym is fairly big, however the equipment is quite old but functional. Important thing to note which I noticed at the gym. They have a water cooler, but they do not offer disposable cups. They have a few cups on a tray which I believed is shared by many people. Not very healthy. To be safe bring your own water bottle or personal cup. The staff on the front desk is very professional and courteous. Also this hotel is not part of any hotel chains like SPG , or Hilton etc. so they do not offer loyalty points. Finally, the views from the rooms are pretty cool. You get to see some great sights around the city. Enjoy your...
Read moreI stayed on the 30th floor for two months and mostly loved it. People in the other reviews talk about the building being plagued by drug dealers and prostitutes, and the signs in the lift indicate this is true. I didn’t care though, it just made the experience more interesting. I saw prostitutes walking around but they were friendly, not like the scary crackheads we have in the West. I never once had a bad encounter and always felt safe.
It’s also a very convenient place to stay with a bar and 7-11 on the 12th floor. Bar guy is friendly and speaks a bit of English. The surrounding area has a plethora of eating options and a supermarket and hardware store within a couple minutes walk.
But there are some other cons.
the building has a serious cockroach problem, even on the 30th floor.
the hallways are a bit smelly
the fire alarm would go off at least once a week because of some degenerate smoking in their room. It was kind of alarming at first but eventually I ignored it like everyone else. The fire alarm has instructions in English and Japanese where it tells you to wait while they check it out then says either it was a false alarm or evacuate now. Building staff are very quick to respond to the fire alarm and check it out.
Loved the super friendly building staff member who works on the ground floor, always...
