Taipei Music Center — Attraction in Taipei

Permanent exhibition - "Music Island Stories" is very well curated. Immersive with audio guide which comes with the ticket (choice of English/ Chinese). If you understand Chinese, choose the Chinese audio guide, you are in for a treat, as music stars like 李宗盛，陈绮贞，MC Hotdog，are your audio hosts, narrating the various sections. After you purchase your ticket, you are guided to take a lift to the 6th floor. Make your way through each floor (6th, 5th and 4th) and savour the journey through music history. Do not rush through, and listen to each section in its entirety (each audio narration plays in a loop). This exhibition is not for old fogeys and not boring as some reviewed, if you have some association with Taiwanese pop music. It was very interesting and engaging. It could be made even more great had they interviewed some of the pop artists. The end of the exhibition is a black box which simulates aurally a pop/rock concert with giant screens, and you can just sit down to enjoy. A perfect ending. Well worth the ticket price. We took our time and spent about 2 hours here. For the concert experience, they have a rotating schedule, so you can pick which day you want to drop in- when we visited it was 动力火车 and they rocked about 3 songs。Other singers on other days are JJ Lin and Hebe from SHE (can't...

We came around 5:15 pm which was less than 1 hour before closing time. We didn’t actually buy tickets to go view their display upstairs since we didn’t really want to rush our experience and we were just killing time anyways.

Overall it was still pretty cool since they have a mock studio set up for you to see what it sounds like when recording and lots of phone and iPads around to test out making beats.

We were basically the only ones in the building so it kind of felt like we were VIP so that was cool. I would love to come back again sometime in the future to check out their actual displays that you need to purchase...

這塊土地，用歌說故事已經超過一百年，曾經橫掃華文世界，影響過數以十億計的生命。不論是在威權時代，還是價值觀開放的今時，這些音樂人，這些歌，跨越了世代與時空，打破了國界與城市，生動鮮活的在每個人的生命中留下記憶的氣味。訴說市井日常也好，寄託大我情懷也罷；不論你是 Rocker 還是憤青，不論你是小清新還是追夢人，每個人心裡一定都有一首屬於自己的歌，一定會在這裡找到屬於自己的故事。

且讓我們張開耳朵，打開眼睛，一起進入流行音樂殿堂，仔細聆聽屬於這個島嶼的歌，經歷一趟豐盛的音樂旅程。

序章：記憶的和弦 音樂一直都在我們身邊，一首首歌曲見證了時代動盪、政權交替。每一代人的心裡，都有屬於自己的歌。

臺北圓環 在早期，歌謠只能口耳相傳；1930年代，唱針落下，樂音響起，臺灣有了第一首自己的流行歌曲。從日治時期的「歌仔本」到收音機、留聲機，再到江湖走唱及唱片行的「曲盤」和錄音帶，臺北圓環無疑見證了臺灣流行音樂早期的發展，更充實了好幾代人的耳朵。

時代電器行 從可以放進口袋的電晶體收音機，還有黑白到彩色的電視機，再到手提式收錄音機，當然還有卡式隨身聽......一間電器行的小小櫥窗，也共同見證了我們擁有的音樂時代。

臺北戲院（電影主題曲的故事） 1932年的「桃花泣血記」是臺灣最早的流行歌之一，也是同名電影的主題曲，自此流行音樂和影視產業有了很深的連結。電影工業的全盛期，也是唱片產業景氣最好的時候，並留下了無數經典作品，例如：一個紅蛋、望春風、港都夜雨等膾炙人口的歌曲。

火車火車 隨著現代化及都市化的發展，火車搭載著離鄉遊子到遠方追尋自己的夢想，這班列車承載著滿滿的夢想與離鄉的惆悵，歌曲律動伴隨著這座島嶼從農業化走向工業化再到目前以服務業為主的現代化社會。

唱自己的歌（民歌時期） 曾經有一個時代，年輕人靠著一把吉他、一本小歌本及一台手提式收錄音機錄Demo，自己寫歌自己唱。這些歌曲透露著濃濃的文藝情懷，他們經常以詩入歌，讓流行音樂也有了更多文學底蘊，並為之後的流行音樂奠定了良好根基。

年輕人的精神世界 臺灣的政治社會氣氛在1980年代漸漸鬆綁，也因此誕生了許多有態度的歌曲，呼應著一代代年輕人的挫折和焦慮，也唱出了他們的夢想和天真，字字句句更顯露出他們的青春熱血。

音樂愛情故事 人生中總有一首歌會唱出你在戀愛時的歡喜悲傷、猶豫徬徨以及所有不為人知的心情，當熟悉的歌聲唱起，你會想起哪個心上人？還是曾經的自己？

唱片的出生 一張專輯的完成，從創作、編曲、錄音、配唱、後期製作到視覺設計、行銷宣傳等，每一個環節都需要有專業工作者分工合作，一起來看看，一張專輯是如何製作完成的。

音樂的魅力（臺灣音樂的多元與包容性） 臺灣這片土地融合了豐富多元的文化，除包含臺語、客語、原住民、新住民的母語歌曲外，香港、新加坡、馬來西亞等地的華語歌手亦視臺灣為最重要的流行音樂基地。因這樣兼容並蓄的精神，讓這裡充滿了抒情、搖滾、舞曲、嘻哈、R&B、電音等各式曲風。
