We went to see/hear the concert 'The World of Hans Zimmer'. The place is huge (more than 3400 spectators can be seated on two floors). One positive about the steep seating arrangement is that (at least I assume) the stage can be seen from every seat. So that was the positive note, the stairs in the auditorium are very narrow, hardly people can cross (troublesome in the break where still someone wants to go out, when someone else is coming back already). But what worries me more is the question of 'how they can evacuate 2400 people in an emergency over those stairs!?' (~2400 seats are located in the 3 floor). The lobby, the stairways up to the auditorium is not impressive, not clear, yesterday the staff on service were friendly, but they seemed a bit at a loss as well. The Parking is another catastrophe! 293 parking lots are available on 3 basements - which is for me a bit marginal, with the fact that the next 2 MRT stations (Kunyang and Nangang) are both around 1000 m away - or a15 minutes walk. But then when you have parked there. it is good they have only 293 parking lots, as going out is a nightmare - it took nearly 1 hour to leave the parking lot...... They design may be spectacular, but logistics have not been part of the planning, or then very miserable. We were also not impressed by the acoustic of the place. We were very much excited to hear this life concert - the performance and the artist were excellent - but the sound we got was not of good...
Read moreI've been here many times for different concerts and music festivals. I would say it's a well-designed venue for music events.
When there's a music festival, they sometimes close the road, and there are food trucks offering a variety of food. On regular days, there are also 2-3 bars around the area for a quick drink before the concert. However, you can't bring drinks into the concert hall.
The main hall has three floors for large concerts. If you look at my photos, you'll see different views from various seating areas, starting with the standing area (second pic), the second floor (third pic), and the third floor (fourth pic).
At the entrance, there are areas usually open for selling merch during events. I'm always impressed by how organized the queues and setups are, and I’ve never had to wait too long.
In addition to the main hall, there are smaller halls for other...
Read moreMy first time visiting the place, very disappointed.
First of all, you need to bring your national ID card or you are not allowed to get in, IN ADDITION TO your ticket. WHY?
2ndly, We bought the most expensive ticket so we can see the performance up close. BUT we were treated with folding chairs??
Building structure wise, it is absurd to walk in to the building that you are right under staircase? NOT ONLY it is unwelcoming, in just a few steps more you walk straight into walls. I am a avid performance goer, been to many performances worldwide, I have never seen a performance hall like this.
Lastly, the toilet facility; the width of walkway inside of the facility only allows one person to pass through. It was jammed during break, and getting in and out was difficult.
Overall, the design of the place and the customer service team...
